There should be an warning when you quit the timer. It's just too easy to inadvertantly quit the timer when quitting other programs.

Having tried a few Timer apps, Countdown Timer Gadget has taken it’s place as my go-to timer. A straightforward, attractive interface allows for immediate use. I’ve been surprised at how many dumb, incomprehensible designs for such a simple function have appeared on the market.

  • Nice app, but underwhelming! (waiting for update)

I bought this with the need to show “seconds” counting down. This will show 00:00 (hours and minutes). Ineffective for my needs but a great countdown timer for everyday needs. Keep up the good work!
  • Why Some Negative Reviews? This is PERFECT.

This is app is GREAT! I was hesitant at first to purchase this app after seeing some negative reviews. I can tell you now that these reviews came from ignorance of using this application. Watch the video on YouTube because it answers all their “concerns”. Why I use it: I’m a freelancer for video production and often have 5-6 major projects on my plate. I keep organized based on priority and importance of each client’s project. Most of my time is spent “moving projects along” because of the vast amount of time involved in each. I “sprint” each day for 4 segments of 90 minutes on high-priority projects with quick tasks, emails, and calls in between. Thus getting 30 billable hours in each week as a goal. To visualize and better focus, I use this app: I set it to 1.5 hours, click start, and this app starts counting down. Great visuals and handy to check back as you trudge through task after task. If you’re familiar with CrossFit or simliar time-based or task-based fitness metholodigies, then you’ll understand why this app can drive productivity during a defined period of time. I highly recommend using this app for short 90-120 minute segments of focused work followed by a true break.

  • This IS the BEST Count Down Timer AROUND

Does every thing the developer claims. I enjoy using it. The timer plays the tune I chose and even opens the Application I set when the timer is done. I can see where the timer is at watching the digits. I suggest this for any one who connects with others using applications and does timed sessions. Easy to set the time desired. Also great for cooking. I would suggest this for any one cooking a meal or practicing an instrument.

The dock icon will not hide when hide dock icon is selected. When clicking around I set off the timer alarm sound and could not find a way to stop it. Very irritating. Otherwise this utility has great potential!!! Thanks ... Ken

I tried 3 other timer apps in the App Store and Countdown Timer Gadget is the first one that I found almost completely satisfactory. I like its customizable time and customizable sound with volume control. A small problem is that it is just a little awkward to quickly set. I think the developer was going for good looks, and that’s probably a good tradeoff for most people. It does look GREAT! Thank you for a good product at a reasonable cost.
  • Great Solution for Me, Only Minor Issues

This allows me to keep a 59 second timer on every support email I open, read, and take action on. Keeps me moving fast, by encouraging me with feedback on ones I handle in 20 seconds and the progressively escalating sounds of the timer's alarm helps to lend urgency when I'm taking 60+ seconds. Since I only handle client support when my business partner is on vacation, I'm not used to it and it takes me forever - but this app creates an urgency I want to have but can't maintain on my own (my doctor says it's insufficient production of nerve- or neuro-adrenaline, or something like that)! My only issues are that a) it doesn't remember the color scheme/theme that I've selected, between launches/quits or system reboots; and that b) there's no one button (or better yet would be a hot-key combination, that could be triggered while app isn't in the foreground) to just reset and restart the timer; and also that c) there's no numeric countdown when there's less than a minute left, just goes to "00:00" instead of switching to a "MM:HH" format and counting down from 00:59 to 00:01. My biggest feature request would be that, ideally, when I finish an email in 20 seconds, I'd be able to start it back at 59 seconds, with just one keystroke or click. But now, I have to click the 'alarm' icon to make it end the timer and sound the alarm, then click the 'pause' button (turns to a 'play' button), then click the now 'play' button to start the timer again. Minor issue, and maybe I'm the only person who uses it to time repetitive tasks - so it could be no one else would like that feature :-\ Regardless of my issues, this app is nice looking, fairly full featured, and a huge blessing for me :) Thanks so much, Sergey! -dan
