  • Excellent Email Client I ever purchase!!

I just would like the Developer to respond to my emails I've sent out several times without any responses back. Are there any updates in the future to support the lastest OS's that were released? Thanks...
  • Best Menu Bar Mail Client - Almost There

This is the best and most complete Menu Bar Mail Client so far. I am hoping it will keep enhancing its features and then I will change it to 5 stars. Missing Features Must have: - Ability to choose the folder to display its emails. - Search capability (all folders or current folder). - Signature (could get it from Apple Mail if possible). - Redirect (it is missing and should be at least on the gear menu). Optional: - Flag as in Apple Mail (different colors capability).
  • I no longer recommend Mail Call (down five stars to none)

AMENDED, April 26, 2018. As of now, this application is inoperative. Perhaps it has a conflict with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or 5. In any case, it’s frozen. And I can’t remove it from my Mac in the usual way, because the icon has disappeared from my Applications folder, its Preferences pane is frozen on my desktop, and to even try to delete it will require me to reboot my Mac (which didn’t work last time, anyway). Until Pugsley can assure users of better performance — that this application works at all — I would recommend giving it a pass. The convenience I lauded below means nothing when your computer is rendered unusable. AMENDED, May 31, 2017. "At the moment, Mail Call is reporting 791 new emails on my Mac, whereas I can count only about 200 in Apple Mail. It’s been this way for over a week. I emailed Pugsley LLC for support but haven’t heard back from the developer at this time. It’s still a nifty application, but less useful without the ability to accurately indicate my new-email load with just a quick glance. Sorry to be critical but that’s my situation at the moment. Glad to revise this review upward again once the developer gets back to me with a solution or at least a promise to find one." INITIAL COMMENT, May 26, 2017 (after a year’s use). "First of all, it always works. It shows me pending email graphically and item by item. Often, I find it easier to deal with email inside the application rather than in Apple Mail, my usual email client. The interface is easy to manage and offers all the options you need to properly read email, store it, forward it, or delete it, by accounts and by folders = all easy to do, without opening Apple Mai.. Really a boon."
  • Great App. Needs Work on the UI.

Compared to what else is out there, this app does a decent job. The UI and interacting with the app needs work, though. Currently, there is too much dependence on working with both mouse and the keyboard. Shortcuts are implemented, but only when the app window is visible. Additionally, interacting with messages in the window is only possible when clicking on a message in the list. Again, this is where keyboard and mouse interactions fall appart. The purpose for an app like this is to do a quick job of notifying and acting on mail that has come in and not require a bunch of mouse clicks and keyboard actions to do so. Otherwise, I can just leave my mail client in the background and interact in the same fashion with it, with Mail Call being superfluous. Looking forward to the next iteration of the app.

  • Needs work.

After using this for a while, I’m dropping my rating. It needs to update the correct folder when an action is taken. I.e., nothing sent gets into the Sent folder for the account. Nothing deleted ends up in Trash. Saving graphics or attachments, they go nowhere. Not a good thing. Michael
  • Doesn’t worth its price

I thought this app would be like Notify, but it’s not stable at all for the below reasons, I’m switching back to Notify! 1. When I delete an email it doesn't actually goes to the "Trash" folder, tried to check where the emails go when I delete them and found out that when I use a Gmail account, the deleted emails go to the "All Mail" Folder, and when I use an Outlook account, the deleted ones never show under under any folder! tried to search for them but found nothing! (The were permanetly deleted). 2. After adding around 4 email clients (3 Google Apps accounts and 1 Outlook), Mail Call doesn't work properly, and doesn't show any new email and the updating (refresh) button keeps loading forever. 3. Outlook account syncing is really slow. ( after receiving an email in my Inbox, I tried to update Mail Call many times, but by the end it doesn't show that there's any new new email.
  • Don’t compose

I’ve lost too many emails in composition to give this what otherwise would be five stars. It crashes at the worst times. Good as a notifier, and to read, but unless your doing something very short, I would not advise using this app unless you like wasting time, energy, and away.
  • Impressive Notifier for iCloud

The bulk of the email notifiers in the App Store are all Gmail this and Gmail that. What if I don’t, for some odd reason, want to use Gmail? I’ve had a Gmail account since 2005 and it was great until I realized that when they cancelled Google Reader, they could pull the rug out from under Gmail too. They actually did criple push on the iPhone by getting rid of Exchange support on the server side, so now, to get real push, you have to use the Gmail app. They would never cancel Gmail though, as it helps their ad platform (and let’s face it, Google's an advertising company that offers free services to get you to click ads) and I’m also a little tired of the non-standard IMAP implementation, so I went all in with iCloud, and so far, it’s been really solid for me. But… Apple decided, for whatever reason, that Mail must be loaded in order to ping the Notification Center in Mac OS X. This is OK, and I have a new iMac with enough RAM to handle it, but Mail is rather heavy and sometimes I just want to see what’s in my inbox. This does that. To see other emails in other folders, I can open Mail but I only need to do that once or twice a day. This is sufficient. I would add IDLE support so that it truly pushes. The other thing I would include, since this is, you know, a Mac app, is native iCloud set up. The iCloud servers are not a trade secret as I have successfully set up my mail under Evolution in Linux with no problems. Just being able to log in to your iCloud or get the settings from Mail would shave several seconds off the initial experience and differentiate this from the other apps. I spent the 10 bucks and I’m happy so far and because I’m savvy, I got it set up in under a minute. I wonder, how many more people who need this for iCloud would spring if it was included? Anyway, good app all around and I look forward to future updates.
  • Wonderful... or at least darned nice

I seem to bounce back and forth between Apple's Mail, which seemingly missed mail with some frequency (I don't use my Apple Mail account, but have a third-part ISP/mail server), and MailMate (which never misses mail) and PostBox (which has a wonderful interface)... but simply leaving Mail Call running seems to offer me what I really need: notification of arrived mail; a quick way to respond or delete, or ignore for a while. Then, once a day I'll run one of my "real" mail apps, and let it gather and sort everything. I didn't have an earlier version, so can't testify as to replacement problems. I can say, however, that I've had no problems at all with version 1.7. Nice app.
