  • Great for at home yoga

I really like this app as it allows me to do yoga in the comfort of my own home. The only thing that is missing is prenatal classes or even a Gaiam prenatal yoga app. The meditations vary in length and focus so I can squeeze in a quick 4 minute fix when needed. I highly recommend!

  • Used to be the best yoga app

I bought the app 5 years ago and have used it daily. I have recommended it to friends and family over the years and enjoyed watching it grow in popularity. They have ruined this app with the addition of the subscription service and the multiple failed updates. They also continue to lock out legacy users like me. Shady and incompetent!! Apple should do a better job regulating this sort of behavior. Switched to Down Down app which is great.

This was my go-to yoga app for a long time...until they locked me out with a subscription model. Peace out. Time to find a competitor.

I cannot get this app to work on my iPhone 8. I have to use my old iPad. I even subscribed because I like the app. I am, however, disappointed that it will not run on my phone.

To anyone reading this review with consideration of purchasing this app, I advise you to steer well clear. 😒 what is up, Yoga Studio? You are like a little nippy anklebiting dog, slowly taking bit by bit every last cent you think you can get away with. I'm sure that with every "buggy" update you gain a couple more subscribers who are curious to see what the new format is like or who just REALLY want access to their app again and so choose to try a subscription. Excellent business strategy, you dishonest creeps. Either give me back my app or give me back my money. I don't care if I "only" paid a small amount for an app, it's about ethics.
  • Yoga is my physical therapy

I haven’t been able to really exercise for years so I have to start off slowly and gently, as I’m still battling some physical ailments that cause chronic, debilitating pain. After research and examining my condition, I know that yoga is the best form of exercise for me. However, I had no idea that yoga was so diverse. I’ve been to some very intense yoga classes, even a Buti yoga class which is so high-impact. While those are great practices, those weren’t the right fit for me. It was discouraging because even in the slower based classes that I’d experienced, the instructors only walked around naming poses and telling us when to breathe. I asked for a visual demonstration and I was told that’s not the proper way to lead a class. Seriously?! I had no idea what was going on so I’m looking around trying to find someone who knows what their doing but everyone was doing something different. Instructors will tell you that the practice is personal and each person does what feels good for his/her body. I understand the truth in that now, but it wasn’t an effective teaching tool. I needed a foundation. I love this app for a number of reasons, the first being that it is not intimidating like those classes were. And it provides all the instruction that you desire. The app creates a calm, soothing ambience (I like to listen through by Bluetooth Powerbeats headphones so that I can block out all the those in my house.)As a newbie I needed to learn the poses and build a foundation for the practice. The app provides this. There are classes for beginners and then more advanced. And there are even classes that target back pain for example. This has been very useful for me. I can’t afford to continue physical therapy for the amount of time that my body actually needs. Yoga is my physical therapy. I have a great appreciation for the practice now that I have a foundation. I love that I can just hit pause or the back arrow to go back to a specific pose that’s ministering to the specific needs of my body on that particular day. The app has some other very cool tools that allow you to create your on class for example. I haven’t delved into that yet. But I’m on my way there. I suppose this speaks truth to the efficacy of the classes that are already programmed and ready to go with the tap of a button. My subscription just expired so I went on the hunt for a free or less expensive app with all these great attributes. Well, my search led me right back to this app. I don’t frequently take the time to review apps (because... well because it’s an infringement upon my time). I was led to do so because I’ve had chronic, debilitating pain for years. I’m in my 30’s and I cringe when I think about what my body feels and looks like compared to what it used to. My physical ailments have greatly changed my life and me. I can’t just get up and start running. I have to realize my limitations and not compare myself to others or even the person who I once was. This app lets me do this in the sanctuary and peace of my own home. If you’ve found a yoga class/practice that works for you then great. But no one took the time to explain what poses and stretches were particularly important for this woman who’s had 8 surgeries. I needed something very personal. I get it here (Yoga Studio should be paying me for this glowing review but they aren’t).
