  • Won’t load data?

I’ve never seen a mobile game ask to take a few minutes to download data before letting me play. On top of that it says it will still download even if you don’t stay in the app, but it doesn’t. I’ve tried three times now, connected to wifi and not killing the app each time. Bye

I played this mobile game on and off since high school, and now the game is actually more than a decade old. I recently returned because of nostalgia, and I’m finding it’s still a great game. I think it’s so cool how the developers keep balancing the game. I last played the game like 3 or 4 years ago and when I came back this time, all my old units got powercrept, but it was easy for me to pull new ones from the event collabs. I saw even though the new units seemed so strong, the end game content still had new mechanics to make things challenging. I’m grateful the game is still around and the community is very wholesome in the discord or on the small reddit. One thing I like about the game this time that I’ve returned, is there is not too much to do. I played Cookie Run Kingdom and while it was fun, it made me feel forced to keep producing these items by always going back to the interface throughout the day. While I didn’t have to do it, I would definitely miss out on key items. In this game, once I spent a few days getting a title and nothing else. It was a good challenge and not too much grinding. I tried the ranking dungeons for the first time for a crown since at the time it was at the end of the current event so not much else to do anyway, and it was cool cuz the ranking dungeon is challenging (it’s player against player where a small percentile can get a cosmetic crown) but also you can only do it so many times a day and then that’s it for the day. I’m just glad the game doesn’t have too much pure grind stuff or pressure me into doing chores daily that will take a lot of time. There are some days especially near the end of the events (usueally has an event every 2 wks) where I don’t even use my stamina and just log in for any rewards, maybe browse the reddit, do some easy dungeons. I think it’s a good game for people that want to be entertained for a long term. I like collecting things in mobile games and this game goes lots of collabs with animes like Demon slayer, Jojos bizarre adventure, hunter x hunter, spy x family. It’s so cool to play a game and see characters you like in it. The art is so good too. For me the only con I can think of for the game is how the company gungho is removing all the site resources players like. When I played a while ago, there were these favorited websites I’d go to for information about dungeons and many of them got taken down. I still do okay just going to the ones that still exist, some youtube content creators, or using google translate on the google chrome app.
  • Good game but purchase system needs to be fixed

Overall, great game. Good stories, generous gifts, new and returning content, it’s great. However, I often cannot complete a purchase even if I have enough funds. I once tried buying a collab bundle but wasn’t successful until 4 days before said collab ended.
  • What can be said about P&D?

I have this game on mobile (both regular and Apple Arcade).. I have it on switch, and I have it on 3DS... And I'll probably never stop playing. It's Pokemon meets candy crush but on an entirely separate, more awesome level. The best part is getting to move the gems wherever you want. Candy Crush would crumble to pieces if it let you do that! Not to speak ill of your competition when they're not here. Keep up the good work, you'll always be a staple on my devices!
  • Constant DMCA takedown of resources

Though the JP counterpart does not suffer from this, constantly taking down resources we use to look up unaquired items or equips to allow us to see what we have that is similar or where it comes from to assist us in teambuilding is absurd and something that can be fixed if they released a database in the game itself or make a website/app with all the information
  • GungHo, you're shooting yourself in the foot.

Stop killing player projects. They've killed off Ilmina and PadGuide, and now the game is virtually impossible to approach without these resources. There are over 10,000 cards in the game and there is not a SINGLE USABLE WAY IN GAME TO SEARCH THROUGH THEM. It's too bloated and they refuse to let their community help them.

Gameplay is amazing, the embodiment of simple to learn but difficult to master. Teambuilding is very fun if you have the right units. Clearing difficult dungeons is always fun and rewarding. 3 star review comes from how gungho has managed the game over the past year or so. Power creep comes way too fast at times and not having a single unit can brick an entire team. Pacing of events also made it so that it’s very hard to come back from an extended break. Teambuilding has also become very restrictive for endgame. Dungeon mechanics have become uninspired, tiring, and boring. Team archetypes fall in and out of the meta constantly, invalidating any investment you made. Not to mention that the game is balanced around JP and they get many exclusive units that define the meta at times. Good if you’re looking for a blast from the past but I sadly cant recommend picking up pad to play long term…
