  • Lacks features, buggy, too social

Had lots of issues setting up profile as photo upload wasn’t working. Same with adding bike. Had to add it multiple times before it showed up. Seems like everything on the app is a post. When you add a bike it is a post. When you drive a route, it’s a post. Ya, that’s not for me. As for lack of features, there are no turn by turn directions. You can’t plan a route. When you do record a ride the lean data is garbage. So wanted this app to be awesome, but it is just so-so.

I have contacted support through email several times with no help so far. The app on my lobby to save my ride and I’ve lost 4 rides already because of it. If this is what users are to expect for support the I’m deleting this app.

Can we get an update so it scales to iPad. I use an iPad mini as my nav / communications while adventuring.

ESR saved my butt years ago when I had a real accident. But every time they release a new and improved version it has bugs. New bugs. And generally fails to import your previous settings. So it’s recommended…but as just barely better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. The latest fiasco? Crashlight detects false alarms which you cannot heated or see to cancel unless you’re running ESR in the foreground. Which is nuts! And keeps freaking my family out. Clean up your act, ESR!
  • False positive. But hey it worked

So riding today, the app false detected a crash. I did not have the app actively open, but it was running in the background. I made a phone call via my Bluetooth headset to my gf who is one of the emergency contacts. Shortly after calling her, my parents were frantically calling me worried about me. For some reason, when I made the phone call the app thought I crashed? And since I didn’t have the app pulled up while running, I was not aware of the alarm. Is there a fix for this?!? Other than leaving the app open on the Home Screen all the time? I had it minimized and my phone locked to conserve battery life.
  • ESR does not work on iPad :-(

I just wanted to read a few of the articles but I can't...... the ESR App does not allow use on an iPad as it requires motion sensing for no reason as if it was an iPhone in your pocket while you were riding your bike. this leaves out an entire segment of ESR users. cell phone or PC only for those who want to relax after a nice ride and read the articles. come on guys fix this. I get why you did this, so you wouldn't get complaints that crash light wasn't working properly after install, but you screwed the pooch on anything that doesn't have the same internals as the cell phone.
  • False crash detected, no navigation

I mostly got this to detect crashes. Today I was riding along when suddenly a voice came over my Cardo saying “911 what’s you’re emergency?” I had to pull over and spend a good 5 minutes explaining to the cops that there was no emergency and this app just called them automatically for no reason. I’ve only been using this app for a week, and already got a false crash detection (as other reviews complained about). So I immediately deleted the app. Even with the horrible crash detection aside, I also don’t really think this app provides much value. It can’t even give you turn by turn directions, let alone map out the twistiest route or avoid highways or whatever, like other apps can. And this is supposed to be a bigger more popular app, no idea why they can’t even figure out navigation. The rest of it is this janky social media sort of thing that’s somehow less appealing than mainstream social media. I really don’t know why anyone would keep this app. All it does is call the cops on you for no reason… so I guess there really is an app for everything these days.

I paid $15 for Crashlight and it says I didn’t purchase it. Waiting to hear back from emails but I go on a long trip this weekend and it’s the whole point I got the app and made the purchase.
