    I don't like the fact that ads are embedded in the news article itself, which limits reading space and proves too much of a distraction. Also, the app experience is very buggy to the point of irritating when it frequently syncs itself automatically or failed to download any content.

    The pop up ads are a major source of irritation and frustration; especially for a paid subscription. You don't find the FT or the NYT resorting to that to drive revenue growth. It's self defeating. Everyone else is minimizing clicks and making easier for users to get to the information they want. And perhaps charge for it. The BT is doing the exact opposite. Putting in a roadblock and reminding users what a hassle it is to use the paid app. It's sad because the content can be quite good, at times. The latest update is also "laggy" on the scroll function.
