Play any synth or virtual instrument with your trusted guitar. ##### Lots of user videos: jamorigin.com ##### MIDI Guitar is the World’s first app to transcribe guitar playing into MIDI in real-time, with latency and accuracy comparable to expensive and inconvenient hardware MIDI guitar solutions. MIDI Guitar is over 10 years in development(!) and based upon state-of-the-art polyphonic pitch detection and –prediction technology that can accurately recognize guitar playing and -articulation with very low latency and without spurious hits. The technology has been validated by thousands of guitarists over the years. MIDI Guitar comes as AudioUnit plugin (AUv3) and as a standalone app which can host other iOS synth apps or send virtual midi to Garageband or other DAWs. You need a guitar interface for best results. We recommend a digital interface (using the lightning connector) over analog (via headphone jack), preferably with input gain control. Using an acoustic guitar with the built in microphone works for some purposes but is not optimal. The free version will interrupt every few minutes, asking you to buy an in-app purchase.     I love this app it is definitely a five star review all the way If its not working right your gain staging or inputs and outputs are probably set too high or not right try readjusting them and make sure permission for the mic to midi guitar is enabled too

    if you know what you’re doing… you can slowly strum a C chord on guitar and have a cascading chorus of vocals and stings playing along with each note. This paired with a midi note probably filter, or other midi fx and the possibilities are endless and the drag on cpu is not so bad. This app blows minds. This, idensity, and a drum machine/sequencer in your AuV3 host of choice (apematrix or aum), and some basic fx and you can make truly other worldly sounds. And beautiful sounds, etc. And yes, there is a built in noise gate, built in pitchbend functionalality, the ability to switch between mono and polyphonic midi output… like i said: dream machine

    I am amazed how well this works. I have a Roland Gr-33 rig and this tracks notes better with far less random ghost notes. Plus this is easier to set up. It may have slightly more latency but barely noticeable and it was easy to adjust my playing to compensate for. Worked perfect with my synths in Cubasis with out any hassle. I doubt I will be using the on boards sounds much they are decent and easy to get different sounds out of. I’m a crummy keyboard player and this is perfect for recording midi parts. My Roland is getting likely getting sold now that I have this.

    The tracking is ok within the app itself for the few instruments you see (free and paid version are the same instruments) but when you use the external paid midi feature for Garageband instruments you may find that the tracking suffers slightly (more than the likes of a GR55). If you’re playing instrumentation with sustained chords/notes (violin, keyboard, synth etc )then it’s fine all around but if you’re trying to play eighth notes(midi bass guitar , midi arpeggios on a grand piano etc) you’ll get occasional dropped notes and incorrect notes depending on the tempo and other factors. It’s usable mostly for recording at home but it just depends if this is needed for a ‘live’ performance.

    This app has blown me away… Using it with an ipad pro and it is nearly latency free and works with all of my keyboards… i put down my traditional guitar rig and have been playing this for the past few months… fellow musicians are equally amazed at the sounds Ive been getting… this technology used to cost hundreds/thousands of dollars and it didnt sound this good! Wow…

    this is really a spectacular app and has really enhanced things for me. thank you to the developers. if i could suggest one thing for future, i would love to be able to use 432hz tuning without any problems. please if you can configure it for perfect 432hz i will pay for the full version or whatever extra charge for 432hz goadly!

    I left a review earlier with crashing problems. I just wanted to update that the problem has been resolved. It’s now working great with no interruptions. I would recommend this app to any guitar player who wants to play big synth pads with their guitar... what a blast!

    As a pro guitarist from way back, I’m 64 years old, I’m amazed at the level that technology in music production as achieved. I’ve used just about every guitar, effect, and guitar synth ever produced. My current setup involves a MacBook Pro and an iPad. Who’d of ever thought?? As with all guitar-MIDI synths, you have to play with this thing to get it to behave the way you want. Fear not, there’s ample controls. Once you get all your inputs and outputs sorted out you have to setup each sound your trying to play, be it a nice lush pad or a ripping solo instrument. Then be sure to SAVE YOUR WORK! :) You’ll be adjusting Gain, and a bunch of other stuff like Legato, Bend, etc etc. You can also blend your actual guitar sound with added effects with whatever synth sound you’re using. I enjoy technology but I also like musical sounds that I can use effectively and creatively on various projects. This will be yet another tool in my tool box. Have fun. Cheers!

    Where’s the “new auv3”? My hosts can’t find nothing by the name of midi guitar 2. Hopefully this doesn’t mean you just made midi guitar 2 a better auv3 host, since although that is cool it really isn’t what we need. We need it to be hostable, not the other way around :). Update: ok, I had to pay for the midi options which I had never cared about before. It should theoretically find the auv3 now. I guess that’s an extra 10 dollars for you guys! Update 2 : ok, still can’t find it after purchase. Please do reply and let me know what I’m missing, it would be very appreciated. Update 3: OK, found it, it’s a MUSIC FX auv3, not a MIDI! makes sense since it needs to take audio in lol. My bad! Expensive app, but super worth it!
