Dark Sky is the most accurate source of hyperlocal weather information. With down-to-the-minute forecasts, you’ll know exactly when the rain will start or stop, right where you’re standing. (It’s like magic.) Featured in: New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Wired, and more. YOUR WEATHER, DOWN TO THE MINUTE Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER ANIMATIONS The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS Dark Sky comes with advanced notification options: Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location, get notified of government severe weather alerts (for such things as thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, etc.), or even create your own custom notifications covering the next 24 hours for things like temperature, wind, precipitation and more. Even if you haven’t opened the app in days, Dark Sky will tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. TODAY WIDGET The Dark Sky Notification Center Widget tells you at a glance what’s going to happen in the next hour and the next week, so you don’t even have to unlock your phone to quickly check the weather before heading out. TIME MACHINE Explore weather in the past or future. Choose a date and see historical weather data or future predictions based off of seasonal averages. APPLE WATCH Dark Sky looks great on your wrist. Get notifications and check out the weather for the next week with the Dark Sky app built from scratch for Apple Watch.

  • Fails to show in complications

    By Silicon Ghost
Looks promising but the app fails to update on my watch even after following the steps on the developer's website to fix such a problem. It shows "Dark Sky ---" in the complication until I tap it and only then it briefly shows the weather in the complication before opening the full watch screen view.
  • Predicts rain accurately

    By elizabethovey
There are times that it is so accurate that it is surreal. I love the notifications and options for them. Some times. It falsely says a day won’t have rain, but reversed itself well before one is truly surprised.
  • Not working on Apple Watch

    By Moose L
Complication no longer works on Apple Watch. The app on the phone never loads upon first opening. It always reads “unable to load forecast try again”. On second try it loads.
  • Only temp and precipitation in maps. 😞

I bought this app assuming that all of the map options (wind gust, wind speed, etc.), that are on their website, would be included in the app - I was wrong, and am disappointed with the lack of map options in app.
  • New look is a turn-off

Can we have a little re-think of the UI? It looks generic now and the weather icons are ugly. The original versions of this app looked so appealing and all that has been inexplicably lost. Please do a new version with the new features and the old look. It’s actually hard to read now and hard to find information. I wouldn’t buy it now the way it is. I’m so disappointed because I bought it for its useful and beautiful UI. Now it’s just an awful mess.
  • Meh… 😴

What’s all the hooplah? Listed as tops in the App Store. NOT. Maybe it’s good if you want a quickie. I’ve had 28 weather apps (both free and paid) shown in my App Store history. So BTDT. Dark Sky is a POOR ROI. Installed: on my iPad the “current location” is three blocks away from the “current location” shown on my iPhone. “Light snow will stop in 30 minutes.” Well, I guess it could. I stand out in the clear and there’s no light snow (or rain, or breeze) at *this very moment*. So, yep, I guess it could stop in 30 minutes. So could an earthquake or a tornado. (Have you stopped beating your wife?) Information on current conditions? Temperature/feels like and a precip icon, with a rough stab at precip guess (as described above). For more, scroll down and touch once each for hourly temp, feels like, precip, wind. Tedious. No comprehensive description current condition or future predictions. I’ve seen far better weather apps. I have one.
  • Latest update slaughters my apple watch battery

    By GregoryXandrew
Please find and fix the bug that's killing my apple watch battery within 6 hours instead of 2 days.
  • 260 Broadway, New York...?

    By FarNTX
Decent app given that all the other weather apps I used to rely on have either been taken over (made worse or are unusable) or discontinued. Rating would be higher except I don’t live near 250 Broadway in New York. This is the default location when I open the app after a few hours. I live in Texas.
  • Keep your money

    By Meeeeeewe we
This app is not worth the money. It’s not accurate. Not impressed at all.
  • Removed Apple Watch Complication

    By ☼☼☼
The update deleted the complication from my S0 watch (which does doesn’t support WatchOS 5), but there wasn’t a real reason the functionality had to be removed
