You do all the work to get to your fifth entry and then you find out you have to buy the full version to add more than that. That’s just wrong.

I have used this app for years. I have sampled and logged dozens of scotch, whiskeys and bourbons. I’ve referred back to it when I forgot a name of something I’ve had or if I’m looking to buy a bottle of something I’ve enjoyed previously... Until recently when I had to replace My iPhone and for whatever reason, My iCloud backup didn’t work. I had to redownload the app and log in. But it has been years since I set up My profile... I don’t even believe it asked for an email when I set it up originally. But unlike most apps that usernames and passwords get automatically saved to Your iCloud Keychain, Whiskey Log didn’t. It’s literally the only app I lost anything in during this process yet it was the most important aside from My photos and contacts. I emailed the developer and He searched for different emails I would have used during the setup. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t ever prompted and He confirmed as such after not finding Me under any of the 3 email address’ I have ever used... One of My biggest passions and Years of logging all lost... I went from loving this app to being horribly disappointed with it.
  • Tried it ...

I tried to use it, but the fact that it hasn’t been updated to fit a 2 year old iPhone screen bothers me. Add to that the lack of a way to contact the developer and the empty, non-mobile friendly website and it’s clear this is an unsupported hobby. If I’m going to log a bunch of data I’d like a bit more than that. At least I didn’t find any bugs.
  • The BEST Whisky Log App

This app just arrived for use for the IPad and I had it on my iphone for several years. I’m not sure why the makers don’t put a search Engine or find ways to make any money off of it. That being said, I see it as the best log out there. Best looking, easy to use. The makers have updated it through out the years. So don’t worry about your info being erased. Thanks a million guys. Please add to it. Partner up with auction sites or something. Why? Because I want the App to continue and grow. Can’t say enough. It’s simplistic but none out there match it in ease of use and it looks great. If you have a collection or simply want to keep track of what you want to get and or have tasted, this is your app.

You can only log five whiskey types then you have to pay $2.99. Not very fun in my opinion.
  • Lots of bugs

In theory this could be good. It’s a very basic app that I wish had a little more complex features. I would love to filter by spirit type so if I wanted to just show bourbons, for example, it would just show those. A purchase date would be cool as well. As for the bugs; I added 22 whiskies today and I’m the app crashed around 7-8 times. There wasn’t one thing I did that I could pinpoint what did it. Also after adding an entry, when the app goes back to the log, the “add” screen is jumbled on top of the log page. It goes back to normal if you close and open the app but for a paid app you shouldn’t have to do that
  • What I need

SO glad it’s back. This app fits my needs well. It is a very helpful tool for keeping track of the whiskies I’ve tried. It may not be fancy, but ability to add pictures, ratings, and notes is exactly what I want. When it went dark with the OS upgrade, I thought I lost my notes forever and there was no comparable app available. I’m sorry I lost the ability to log the dozen or two whiskies tried during its absence, but am pleased to be able to keep on logging!

This app has been great during a 1-2 week test run so I bought it. 10 minutes after the purchase and after loading a TON of previously handwritten tasting notes, it crashed. All content lost.
  • Great App - needs a few more filters

I like it a lot, but would like to be able to filter more than "All" and "Own It" Would be nice to filter on types of whisky (Bourbon, Scotch, Irish...)
