Description

"This may be the best iPad app yet. Worth buying the iPad for all by itself. Range, power, clarity, all improving day by day. A wonderful tool." - Music in Ashcroft Can I learn to sing? If you can talk, you can sing. Singing is a completely natural activity; our voices are designed for both speaking and singing (in ancient human tribes, everyone sang, not just a few “professional” singers). Singing uses basically the same skills as speech, but for singing we use our breath differently, hold sounds longer, and use a wider range of tones. Don’t I need talent? You may not be able to become the fastest marathon runner. However, unless you have a physical condition that prevents you from running, you can most definitely train to run marathons successfully, and get very good at it through regular exercise. Similarly, you may not be able to become the next Pavarotti; however, you can be as good as many professional singers who sing for a living, provided you train your voice regularly and with focus. Even if you’re not willing to put in a lot of effort, you can always improve from where you are, and have fun singing. Why do I need training? Just as you can’t run a marathon without any training and practice, you can’t sing well without training and practice. Lessons used in Erol Singer’s Studio focus on techniques and sounds that show you how to use your voice effectively, and prevent you from making the most common mistakes in singing, such as breathing poorly and closing your throat (e.g. by letting your larynx rise up). These carefully selected sounds, which have been in use for centuries around the world, ensure that your muscles are coordinated in the most useful ways for singing. By practicing these sounds and building up the muscle memory, it becomes easier to sing other sounds as well and you have more freedom in different parts of your vocal range. Why Erol Singer’s Studio? With Erol Singer’s Studio, we defined a new genre of vocal training software starting in 2012, and have improved it year after year with your feedback and our own ideas. Patented at its core, the app comes with a complete set of lessons organized into progressive levels designed by an award winning singer and vocal coach, best in class super-smooth pitch tracking technology that’s a joy to use, and an optional built-in exercise editor for those who’d like to add their own patterns/song-snippets for practice. But don’t take our word for it; download for free¹ and see for yourself. Terms of Use: https://www.erolstudios.com/ToU-ESS-iOS.html ¹ Beginner 1 & 2, and select exercises in other levels are included for free, while the complete set of lessons requires an active subscription. If you decide to purchase a subscription, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm your purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions via your account settings on the App Store after purchase.

Midway through each warmup, there’s always a problem. I paid for the year and it doesn’t recognize my purchase. It wastes so much time to be constantly troubleshooting the app. Yes, I updated everything.

I thought that it would talk to me but it didn’t make any noise and I had to read it again and again plus it went way too fast for me and I didn’t understand it at all

Abandoned app (over two years without an update), yet they still charge a subscription fee. No dice.

I truly appreciate this app, this is one of those few times I’ve given a review straight from my heart . This app gave me the confidence to become a singer and keep following my dreams. If I ever make it big, amma give a shout out to this app:)
  • Update the app if you’re going to use a SAAS pricing model.

It looks like this app hasn’t been updated in 2 years and yet it charges a subscription fee. I’d understand this model if there was ongoing updates. I’ve already had it crash and lose progress only a few lessons in. Some sort of cloud saving or sign in process would be great, so the app could be used seamlessly between devices. Also, please consider some UI customization such as text scaling for those with low vision or other vision impairments. Even on an iPad the text and sheet music can be scaled pretty small. Outside of these quibbles, it’s a great app.

I have wanted to sing my entire adult life, but I couldn’t connect pitch to my voice. I play many instruments but had started to feel that I might never sing well. This app, done regularly and combined with some ear training, finally gave me the breakthrough. The exercises and the visual indications of your pitch in real time are incredibly powerful.

Have use this app on and off for the past few years and it is always help you warm up for gigs and practice things I do with my Vocal Teacher. The only thing I’m still waiting for from them that’s keeping me from getting a full five stars is: 1) Updated more friendly interface for custom exercises 2) Access to community exercises (it says it’s coming soon but when?) 3) Some basic scales in the ear training part (maybe at 5 tone scale?) After that, this app is pretty awesome. Very helpful even as it is right now.

The quality of the app is great, and I initially put a 5 star review, but I just can’t give 5 stars to an app the runs off a subscription model. The content here is great, but it doesn’t Warner 4+ $ a month. That being said, I’ll still probably pay for one year… but for the sake of not being greedy, just make the app a 15-20 one purchase, nothing here justifies a subscription, other than greed. There aren’t going to be boat loads of new content, that’s what subscription models are for. Im not one who writes reviews, but I’m learning so much from this app Im writing a review for it. I’m a guitar player who just started using and ear training app, and I added this for basic vocal training,ITS WONDERFUL! Helped me so much to Eve learn some basic technique and get my pitches more on point, helping my ear too.
