I LOVE the potential of OnSong, and I use it daily. But I can’t rely on it for live performances, due to the autoscroll time not saving properly. Frequently (not every time; maybe half) I’ll play the intro and first verse, maybe first chorus, and realize I can’t keep up because OnSong decided to change my 4 minute song to 2:30 (not exact numbers, but it’s ALWAYS much faster than what I set). Fix that one issue, it’s a five star app despite other shortcomings and possibilities. As/is, it’s a decent practice tool and a great songbook, but it’s not stageworthy. Edit: I just opened Weather With You by Crowded House for the first time in a few months. The time had reset to 27 minutes. So I guess it’s not always faster after all. PLEASE FIX THIS! Edit 2/18/2019 I have a screen shot where the header says I’m playing Dock of the Bay, next up is No One Is To Blame, and the actual song on screen I’m trying to play is Crush by Dave Matthews. When I hit the edit pencil to fix an error in Crush, Dock of the Bay opens. When I swipe to the next song to play 2:58 Dock of the Bay, it scrolls at about Crush’s 4:00 scroll speed. When I swipe back to fact check that Crush time for this review, Here Comes The Sun opens! This is a mess. PLEASE FIX!

Awesome idea with huge potential but cumbersome and poor support. I want to share my songs between 2 devices but I can’t get the songs to sync. I have songs by key on my iPad but it will not show the keys in my iPhone. Double work and just not worth the hassle.

Importing double byte characters in a Word document fails and yields gibberish. The app SERIOUSLY needs to support two columns layouts both internally Update: with all the promises to “someday” provide an update that provides two column layouts, still YEARS later no visible effort to make it happen. Meanwhile all kinds of features I can’t use. I can only use the most basic features of displaying a chart and I have to convert it to a pdf to do it. It’s only basically useable for me. I have supported this app buying every version, add on and feature but this developer has their own agenda to bloat this app with “everything else”. Really frustrating.

I’ve had this app for almost 5 years now. As a singer it’s invaluable. All my songs are available at any time, and I can link my background tracks right to the lyric. Don’t look any further. TE.

Onsong used to be so great and fast , now song are disappearing at gigs...so I go to download them from my Dropbox and onsong tells me the song is there I can update existing but it’s not there. It’s terrible on the band stand when the song you know you put there several times has now disappeared again with no warning right when you have to play it. It has become slower now and buggy. My friend who I had down load it say the same thing. I hope they fix it. It was the best a few years ago.
  • What happened?

Somehow I lost the ability to hear the sounds of the chords being played when I choose them. It tells me I have to purchase it as an add-on when previously I already had them. Does this mean it’s forcing me to purchase again to hear it, or how can i get that back?

After endless months of loading in and annotating music, I decided to back up my file which was then corrupted and completely destroyed by the backup program! I am filled with loathing for this company.

OnSong has more wonderful features than can be listed here. Everyone in my band has OnSong on their iPad. We can add song, edit songs, transpose the key, create song lists and on and on. If you are a musician and tired of your 3 ring binders full of sheet music falling all over the stage, GET OnSong!

Hands down the most functional easy to use app for hosting chord charts. Any instrument can easily use OnSong with functions like capo and transposing and a metronome built right in. Great customer service to boot and always updating with new features and cleaning up current ones. Worth every penny!

Onsong not only is a comprehensive tool for any musician but also has exceptional support. There is a library of video tutorials, a huge manual, a live stream weekly and they are very responsive via emailed questions. Exceptional service is a rarity these days. If you are comfortable with software and are fairly agile in figuring out a new program it is very user-friendly. I have used it for gigs over the past four years. Works like a champ. Worth every penny.
