It seems like a good version, but it needs updated on the XR. As it is, controlling is difficult because the control pad cannot appear near the edge of the screen. Your fingers have to be near the middle of the screen. To be fair, any games not updated for the iPhone X have this problem. Right now, however, this game is frustrating to play.

I played this on the SNES as a teenager. I played it on the DS. Now I have it here, and play it on my iPad or iPhone. While the touch screen controls are passable, and do not break the game, there is nothing better than a physical controller. This game has the additions given to the DS version, and the graphics are smoother now that antialiasing has been added, and the sprites have been up-converted into high def. Being able to save my game in the cloud was a nice touch, for cross playing on any device. Now, Square, can we have Chrono Cross?
  • This is my favorite game, but I have some ideas to make it better,

I wanna go find his mom at the end of the game, I wanna know what happens to schala I wanna know about the baby lucca found, I wanna be able to go to the saved future. The ending is super ambiguous and I wish there was more to it. Like a playable epilogue. I’ve played this game over and over again since o was 6. Probably atleast 3 times a year every year. I started on the snes version, played the ds version and now i play the mobile version. It was just this year I discovered the new dungeons. The new enemy as well. I want to be able to play the saved future. I wanna know what daltons plans are and I want to defeat him. I wanna see if magus/Janus can save schala, to see what the baby who popped up is and why they’re important. And also to go and find chronos mom since at the end she goes into the gate for the cat. There’s so many things, if you guys could add a playable epilogue with all of those things you would seriously be making a girls dream come true. Or just add new “levels” and extend the game to find out all of the mysteries. I know there are sequels but I’ve heard they don’t do much for the plot of Chrono Trigger. This game is everything to me, if I had the money I’d literally fund all of this lol.

Great game I have loved it since I was a kid I’ve played it so many times. All I want to know is if there can be like a speed multiplier or an exp. multiplier some thing to where I can get more done in the little time I have to play it. I have a job wife and kids but I love my game. Just a thought

10/19/2018 Update: upon completing the game entirely for the fourth time, I have now acquired the Dreamseeker blade without being able to access it in my inventory for three consecutive 100% play-throughs. If the developer sees this, I either need you to refund my $10 or fix the coding in this game so that I can use the Dreamseeker... or find some other means of getting it in to my inventory so I can use it. This transaction, in its current form, is absolutely unacceptable by any gamer’s/human’s standards, I’m certain. Thank you. ~Cons~ ***The Dreamseeker sword does not appear in inventory upon completing the 13th ending, even though it is supposed to.*** This version has a very buggy/poor user interface and battle system which does not meet the original game’s caliber whatsoever, and the movement controls make getting past certain obstacles (Mt. Woe) nearly impossible. This version is missing one of the cutscenes (discovering Robo) for some very bizarre, unexplained reason. This version changes most/all of the original game’s text for the worse. The color pallets for everything in this version have been altered to something totally different/uglier than the original’s. The atmospheric sounds in this version cut out at points where they did not in the original; many of the in-game sounds have been altered from the original version for the worse. The price may be quite steep for most people with a concept of value. ~Pros~ This is a playable, portable, digital copy of Chrono Trigger that will never disappear from the cloud and will never require you to blow in to anything to get it to work. The price is perfect for affluent folks who can afford to drop ten dollars on a video game that has been rereleased eight times in about twenty years (most people with a smartphone).

Love being able to play one of my favorite games of all time on my phone. I really didn’t have any issues with this port and I felt the controls worked fine. This was my first exposure to the additional content added to the DS version which honestly I found to be complete crap. Seriously, an amateur mod could have done a better job with the lost sanctum map design, and the quests were ridiculously tedious. Vanilla CHRONO Trigger is still there though, and why I give this five stars.
  • First Timer... Wow

I’ve heard about this game for yeeeeears, always receiving praise and blah blah blah. I never had a console to play it on though and am wary of these price tags when it comes to mobile since you don’t know what you’re going to get. I finally broke down and bought and all I can say is wow. This game COMPLETELY lived up to the hype and shattered my expectations. It ran super smooth on phone, the only issue I found is VERY rarely the text boxes would lag a little when people are talking. It didn’t happen a ton though so no biggie. I definitely recommend this, especially if you’ve never played this game before

I first played this game on the SNES and later the DS, and I also played this when they first ported it to iOS. I didn’t play it much when it was first ported, but after trying again with the updated version I’m loving my first time playing this classic in years. It’s also really good with saves, accidentally exited the app with a bunch of progress unsaved, and when I hit resume I was practically right back where i was. Awesome app.
