  • Looks bad, doesn’t fit iPhone X screen.

    By Superbulous
They released an update to this that made it look a little better, but the graphics are still kinda muddy and look as though they’re being put through a filter. Also, doesn’t fit iPhone X screen at all.
  • How to get infinite items

    By Sammonkit
I wish to play have infinite items like rainbows. Mega Exsist
  • Needs 16 bit mode

    By Biohazard237
The game itself is flawless, it’s a classic. However, the “updated graphics” are just muddy versions of the original pixel art, with visible seams between tiles. If you release the same patch the PC version has that allows you to revert to the original 16-bit graphics, this will be an instant 5 stars.
  • Thank you !!!

    By Jamie Maloney
Thank you Square Enix for not giving up on Chrono Trigger. Like many people who bought this title, we were disappointed and the game sat dormant in my purchase library all this time. I am so glad your company had the heart and the love of nostalgia to revisit it again and make it a promising game for us to finally enjoy on mobile. The upgrades I’ve seen so far with the graphical sharpness, gamepad controls, anime cutscenes, and cloud saves are amazing! I’m having a lot of fun playing it now. Once again, thank you so much.
  • Best RPG Period

    By Skankhunt-42-notatroll
Play & beat this game every year. It’s simply timeless and enjoyable every time I play. Classics like this come around extremely rare. Epic all around. Strongly recommend for anyone who hasn’t played it yet. Best game ever, period.
  • ~Play the original first~

    By Jajadiddle
~Cons~ This version has a very buggy/poor user interface and battle system which does not meet the original game’s caliber whatsoever, and the movement controls make getting past certain obstacles (Mt. Woe) nearly impossible. This version is missing one of the cutscenes (discovering Robo) for some very bizarre, unexplained reason. This version changes most/all of the original game’s text for the worse. The color pallets for everything in this version have been altered to something totally different/uglier than the original’s. The atmospheric sounds in this version cut out at points where they did not in the original; many of the in-game sounds have been altered from the original version for the worse. The price may be quite steep for most people with a concept of value. ~Pros~ This is a playable, portable, digital copy of Chrono Trigger that will never disappear from the cloud and will never require you to blow in to anything to get it to work. The price is perfect for affluent folks who can afford to drop ten dollars on a video game that has been rereleased eight times in about twenty years (most people with a smartphone).
  • Please use the full iPhone X screen

    By QP206
I love this game but the mobile version for iPhone X is shrunken down instead of utilizing the full screen. Please change that!
  • Disappointing graphics filters that you can’t turn off...

    By DaedalusEagle
This could easily be a five star game. Square, please un-fix the filtered graphics, just as you did on the PC version, restoring the beautiful pixel art. I will happily bump up my review to five stars when this happens. This game deserves to be treated better.
  • Love the game, not the extras

    By Alpavlow
This is my all time favorite game. Been playing since I was little.... the only things I would change is how in battle you can swipe to attack or combo, but when on the list of combos you can’t swipe... you also can’t swipe up or down when saying yes or no to things. You have to click the button. Swiping makes for easier game play. Also I really don’t like how they changes some of the dialogue and terms. “Happy water” used to be sweet water, and “arise” used to be life.... there was no reason to change it. There are complete conversations that have been changed too. Also in magus’s castle, there’s a hidden room in the dark of where Ozzie is trying to crush you with blades that isn’t there anymore.... :/
  • One Star until iOS gets pixel graphics

    By Lcommadot
Chrono Trigger is the best game of all time. Do it some justice and give us the option to use the original pixel art graphics like you did for Steam. One star until it changes.
