Description

Sleep better and start the day with your favorite tunes. Curious to see how much you slept? Then track your sleep in the app. Alarm Clock HD is the app to help you enjoy restful sleep and wake up worry free. How Alarm Clock HD helps you sleep better: • Unlimited Alarms: Apple Music or Alarm Sounds • Customize Nightstand display colors • Sleep Timer • Local Weather Information • Instant Flashlight - shake the device • Full watchOS 2 support • Screen Saver - for devices with OLED display WAKE UP ON TIME: Proper Alarm Settings • Keep the app open and running to always have your alarm go off and play the sounds you’ve set for ‘Music'. When your app is open, you can use the volume slider within the app. When the app is in the background, use the device volume to set your volume. • Make sure your battery is charged and to have your notifications turned on before you go to sleep, when the battery level goes below 30% it might not sound. This is due to prevent the device from dying and the alarm not going off. • Keep your Apple Music available on your device The music you can select consists of everything you have available on your ‘Apple Music’ app on your device. If the music is saved on your iCloud, and not on the device itself, it won’t be available. NEVER MISS AN ALARM When you closed the app and not having it running in the background? The alarm will use the device volume instead and play the notification sound system. The app will close itself automatically after 10 hours of inactivity. This is due to prevent the device from dying and the alarm not going off. When your device is muted, set to ‘Do Not Disturb’ or your device volume is set to 0, the alarm won’t play properly. It will still show the notification without any sound. This is due to Apple’s restrictions as we are unable to access the app settings when the app is closed, only when it’s open or running in the background. >> Have any questions? I had been running the free version for a while without any issues. Following an IOS update, alarm settings couldn’t be edited, snooze button couldn’t be used, the app just closes. It used to be a really good app, and it’s disappointing.
  • No longer reliable

Used this alarm app faithfully for many many years. Put up with the ads because it worked just fine. But now the alarm app shuts off in the middle of the night and deselects the alarms that I have turned on. I wake up and my alarms are off– never having woken me up. Need to find a new alarm app because this one is unreliable.

This has been my go-to alarm clock for years. I purchased it when it was a one-time payment and was a bit dismayed to find that the upgrade was now subscription-based. I’m not opposed to the subscription except that the performance of the app is no longer reliable. Two major issues have me looking for a new app: (1) Previously I’ve been able to silence the phone and the alarm still worked. I don’t keep the ringer on during the day because I prefer the haptics on my watch and I’m really worried I’ll forget to un-silence the phone at the end of the day. (2) The alarms randomly turn off so if I don’t check them every day, its very likely that they won’t sound at all. I set three alarms and verified they were on at the start of the day today. By the end of the day, the first one was still active but the second two were both off and I hadn’t touched the app all day. Please fix my alarm clock! I miss the old reliable app. Edit: I confirmed that three alarms were set when I went to bed last night. I woke up this morning (without the alarm) to discover that two of them had turned off on their own overnight.

New Review 4-16-24 I don’t mind the ads and the problem I had before was pretty much cleared up, but recently they have added ads the whole time the app is open. There are ads that come on so bright (literally brighter than the ap’s flashlight feature) while I am sleeping that they wake me up and run down my battery. I charge my iPad all night while the clock is on and have never had a problem, but now it actually uses my battery up while it’s changing or it will charge very slowly. I have several alarms set and I really like the way the snooze works, but these ads are making it hard to get rest. I don’t mind the ads scrolling across the bottom at night, but it would be nice if they weren’t so bright. *************************************************************** Old Review This has been my alarm clock for several years. I have it on my iPad and it’s very easy to use. I generally push the snooze button several times and I’m glad the snooze button and the off button are very clear. My one issue is that every night I open this app, click off the page asking if I want to upgrade and wait for the ad. I don’t mind the ad, however it takes at least 30 seconds to come up. Which may not seem long, but I’m ready to go to sleep when I put my iPad down, so I place it on my nightstand and wait, and wait, and wait while trying not to fall asleep ( I literally fall asleep the second my head hits my pillow) Most night about 30 seconds later, I have an ad. A lot of nights I think there’s not going to be an ad after all, and I lay down and get settled and the the ad pops up and I have to get back up to turn it off. And about 1 to 2 times a week, I actually don’t get an ad. I don’t mind the ads (and I really don’t mind the nights I get no ads lol), but to have to wait so long for it, is kind of a pain. I understand that this is a first world problem, but I am so tired when I go to bed that I just want to turn my clock on, get the ad, then go to sleep. But other than that, I love this app.
  • Ads in the middle of the night?

I have used this app since I started using a smart phone for an alarm. Have done away with my actual alarm clock / clock radio. Got used to the one ad that followed opening the app. I get it that I could upgrade to the $ version, but this version has worked so good for so long. Now, I get ads at the bottom of the screen at all times of the night. And not just subtle apps that will respond to the little x in the corner, nor will the brightness control hinder them (well, it does, actually, but there are no numbers to see). These ads are bright! I guess I should be glad that the ads have no audio (for now). Whoever made the decision to include these random ads needs to use the version for themself to see how annoying this is. You do know there are other options out there, right?
  • Not my Alarm Clock

My wife and I have been using this app for over 25 years! The “ads”, the paid “special features” have destroyed the functionality of a previously very good alarm clock! Capitalism triumphs or trumps, and you the user loses!

This has been my go to alarm for years - every night. I dealt with the the onslaught of ads and the 2 minute ad every night before bed (used to be a couple of seconds). Then they started ads on the clock itself which meant now my room would light up like Christmas at random times thru the night. Not fun. The last straw was that it recently started hanging up in the middle of the night. That hang up means my alarms don’t go off. This means it’s now unreliable. Two stars for historical use when it was my go to.
  • Turns alarms off on its own

Over the last few months this alarm has turned its alarms off (un-checked them) several times. I have gotten in the habit of making sure the alarm is set every night but again this morning it didn’t go off. When I looked, they were unchecked. I don’t know why it is doing this but it has cost me money!
