Will never renew my subscription due to woke writers and staff. Adios.

I can’t log in and view my new magazine. I just renewed my subscription (somehow? Despite being notified of a card problem )
  • Did a second grader make this app?

The look is so horrible, it doesn’t feel modern or sleek at all. It’s very clunky and ugly. It has a “scam website” feel. I subscribed and tried to download an issue. It says if I’m not an iTunes user I need to sign in. First I need to actually create a login and password but there’s no place to do that and I’m NOT going to download something crappy like iTunes just for this app. So I’m going to cancel my subscription...but guess what. I need to download iTunes to cancel! How are we in 2020 and some companies can’t make a good app. Even just a decent one. I could go to Fivr and get someone to make me a better app than this.
  • Prompt for purchase???

I have an active iTunes subscription, yet when I attempt to download the March 19 issue, I’m presented with an App Store purchase screen for $8.99. Why?
  • Forced to purchase magazine each month, though subscribed

Both the Maximum PC and PC Gamer magazine apps deserve less than one star. Each month, a person either needs to reinstall the app and restore purchases or pay for every new magazine each month, even with a monthly subscription. I’ve subscribed to each magazine for countless years, but after dealing with this broken app for nearly a year now, I’m unsubscribing. It’s not worth the aggravation, and Apple should pull the app.
  • Love the magazine, but not the app

I get all my magazine and newspapers electronically these days. The PC Gamer app requires a lengthy download that of every issue that, frankly, sends me away to do other things on my iPad, forgetting to go back to read the download which stops downloading as soon as I leave the app, lengthening my next visit, too. Once an issue is downloaded, the app labels it as “Read”. But, that’s a terrible label. It doesn’t tell you whether you have or haven’t read that issue. You have to open the issue and read a bit of it to see if you recognize its content or not. Last, the “sharing” function is awful. I often want to send an article to myself to remind myself to buy a certain game. But, whenever I email it to my myself, the link in my email doesn’t open the article. It simply sends me to the PC Gamer app in the App Store asking me to download the app, even though I already have it. Nevertheless, the magazine is great. I realize it’s expensive to update apps, but a small amount of if/then code could improve the “Read” label and a little code should be able to actually send the article, not an App Store link, to those wanting to share an article.
  • App is broken, do not subscribe

I paid for a year subscription with PC Gamer, and the app is completely broken. It won’t allow download, and keeps giving me error 442303. I used the embedded Contact button to request assistance from developer, and no response. I’m now out the money I spent and received nothing from it and a broken app. DO NOT SPEND MONEY on this magazine. The app is broken, you won’t be able to access your magazine, and the developer will not address the issue.
  • Design is kinda clunky.

It looks a bit out dated, and doesn’t really fit well with the screen. Looks like it’s still designed for the 4in. smartphones. And the interface of the pre iOS 10 update. Love PC Gamer though so happy that they have an app for it, but would really love it if they updated the design and interface!
  • Good mag, average app

I'm a big fan of this magazine, both in this format and their website. However, you can tell the app is a low budget copy paste rebadge magazine mill app. I get that there's no sense in PC Gamer reinventing the wheel, but they should pressure their middleware vendor to not be so average. Crashing, failure to load, and failure to login were typical of my setup experience. My favorite error message upon trying to login was that I had to wait for the dashboard to load before I was allowed to login. The dashboard then took an entire day before it loaded without error.
  • App deletes issues

Downloaded issues are constantly deleted forcing you to redownload them. When no wifi is available you are left with nothing to read. Will not be renewing my subscription to an otherwise good magazine.
