Description

Thousands of public safety organizations across the United States and Canada use the CodeRED community notification system to initiate emergency notifications. The CodeRED Mobile Alert app enables subscribers to receive these notifications directly to their personal cell phone whether at home, on the road, or traveling around the country. Alerts are initiated by authorized public safety officials to deliver location-based notifications and are not issued by OnSolve or its staff. Free alerts available* - Emergency - Community - Missing persons - Weather *PLEASE NOTE: If the public safety agency covering your current location is not subscribed to the CodeRED service, you will not receive alerts through this application. If your city or state does not currently subscribe to CodeRED, contact your local public safety organization today to let them know your community would benefit from this service. Helpful hints: • Enable location services on your phone. • The app also features the ability to view local radar footage for the past hour and satellite imagery of the previous 24 hours. • The CodeRED Mobile Alert app comes with CodeRED Mobile Weather Alerts that automatically notifies U.S.-based subscribers of severe weather. • Your app account and the account you create for your community's CodeRED system are NOT associated with each other. You must create separate accounts. Questions or issues regarding the app? Before writing a negative review, please contact us – we're here to help! Definitely listen to the other comments, especially the one from a year ago (currently) everything they said is truer My county posted on FB to register for alerts so i did, after the registration (which was also annoying, kept saying i needed a 10 digit number when it was a 10 digit number, had to refresh so many times) anyways, after registering online it said to use the app, which didn’t work. i had to register AGAIN. All to find out it does nothing and shows absolutely nothing. says 293 active alerts yet shows none. Also won’t let you click the message icon to view the alerts. Waste of time.

I keep getting a message to contact Tech support if having trouble creating account. I downloaded and cannot get in. I then try the website and it’s not letting me do anything at all.

There’s no vibrate only option. Can’t see alerts unless they are selected and they all come with loud alarms for all hours of the night. So don’t expect to get undisturbed sleep. Every time you go to a menu option a pop up to turn on your location services pops up.

Slow as H3LL! I’ve tried to remove and reload. This app will sit and spin for several minutes after receiving an alert. If i can find something else, I’ll move on.
  • App doesn’t work with full screen phone

My phone screen is the whole glass area. The app extends into that region and buttons like the back or play button are non-functioning so I have to constantly exit the entire app to go back to previous notifications. There a wide gap between too much information (641 current notices) and not enough (too slow to find the ones in my area. Because I can’t go back, if there are more than one notification, I waste time exiting the app and going back in to see the other notices.

The alerts work well enough and I’ve never been prompted to pay anything. But when you open the app it’s a pretty miserable experience. Button targets are either much too small or partially obscured but other elements so they’re very hard to press. Or maybe the app is just pathetically slow. It’s hard to know since moat buttons do not have borders defining their region and they do not have separate textures for pressed and unpressed states. So I just keep spamming the back button and the font size buttons until either something happens or I give up. Btw the back button in the upper left is in the same position as the OS “back to prior app” Button, which takes precedence. So if you are in App A, get alert and tap the alert to open code red, code red’s back button is completely nonfunctional. Any attempt to tap it instead triggers the OS button taking you back to App A. The main page may say something like “1234 alerts” but the local page may have none in your area. If you tap the local button anyway there’s a message on the screen that you can’t read because they place a spinner directly in front of it. When there’s no local alerts that spinner never goes away. Either the app gets stuck in a perpetual loop looking for local alerts or (imo more likely) the dev forgot to dismiss the spinner when the query returns no alerts. Overall the UI is either slow, unresponsive or the button targets are too small but it’s impossible to discern which since the buttons are not properly implemented with borders and different textures for different states. And UI elements like the back button and spinners obscure/are obscured by other on screen elements.

Alerts do not load. And are impossible to open. Worthless!
