Description

OptionPosition+ Version 4.1 OptionPosition+ is a financial analysis App that estimates the value of a set of shares and put and call options for a particular stock. It allows the investor to explore various option hedging positions and create a portfolio that is sensitive to price and volatility fluctuations or that provides protection for various concerns. OptionPosition+ graphically illustrates the value of put protection, covered calls, call spreads, time spreads, delta neutral skew trades, iron condors, etc.. Further information is available at https://www.optionposition.com OptionPosition+ comes with an initial one month subscription period that provides access to data on most stocks listed on the NYSE and NASDAQ and certain indexes (i.e. SPX, NDX, RUT, RUI). • Excellent tool for reviewing position dynamics

This tool isn’t perfect, but its a hard problem to solve and this the best I have found so far for tracking real, live, multi-leg option positions. It’s really great to know that when I open a position, I can enter it here and easily test, in real time, anywhere I have my phone or an iPad, different trajectories of change in the value of the position based on time, underlying price and volatility. It has really helped me develop a more intuitive view of the dynamics of multi-leg option positions. Adding cloud support is a great plus to working across devices. Also, outstanding support.
  • Works now

Now, after the latest update, this is totally useless: the app does not even open. Luckily I updated the app after my subscription expired, otherwise I would be really upset. July 3 update: latest version fixed the crashing issue, but new layout and smaller fonts are a bit confusing.

Can you make one for Android, too?
  • Growing frustration

I’ve been a paid user for quite some time but it’s getting more frustrating each day. Earlier in the year data for AMZN was unreliable and often didn’t update. Now it seems that no prices update. I’m weighing my options, looking around for an app that works...
  • Calls and Puts Progress Tracking

I use the tool mainly to track the progress of my AAPL Calls and Puts and in my analysis of when to roll the options forward. It suits my purposes just fine!
  • Used to be a good tool for predicting

Used to be a good tool for predicting portfolio value a few years ago. For the past two years the software has not functioned properly with my iPhone 6 Plus or iPhone X. There is a subscription price so one would expect the product to work as advertised. It was such a great product in the past that I have given the developers an opportunity to improve the product, by my continuing to pay the fees in hopes they will make changes before I dump it.
  • Crude and irritating

This app is not up to the standards expected of an iPad app. It's crude and irritating. Every single time you switch away and back to the app you are put back at the home screen and have to confirm a disclaimer. Irritating as hell. The columns don't line up on the portfolio screens, and some numbers are truncated on the left. How did this app get past even the most rudimentary testing? I sold several different covered calls and entered them into the app. Each one displays a different graph, and only one looks like I would expect the graph for a covered call to look. Hopefully the developer will fix these and other issues and I will be able to update my rating. Update: the original app was crap, so I stopped using it. I didn't update my review because...I was no longer using it. And now, four YEARS later the developer replies with...snark. Classy. It may be a wonderful app now. Give it a try. I'm no longer trading options so I won't be updating my review, which applies only to the four year old version so who cares?
  • Great tool but bugs are festering

I used to give this app five stars, but after years of unaddressed bugs despite paying monthly fees, I am ready to demote my rating. Commonly, my TNA strikes are never downloaded. Unless I am near ATM and the current month, the app ignores my position. Further, a new bug recently has emerged where the time decay is improperly calculated at the top of the graph screen. Both of these bugs have been reported numerous times over the years. My rating will go up once they are fixed.
