  • Overrides Apple Watch workouts

    I have an Apple Watch that I run the workouts on. When I start the workout on both devices it works just fine. When I’m done though, strava will automatically override the Apple workout, and is Inaccurate in the amount of calories I burn, heart rate, etc. when I go to delete the workout from strava the results go back to normal, syncing from the Apple workout. When I launch the app again though (the strava app) in reinstalls the workouts, rendering my stats inaccurate... again. It’s overall just a very frustrating app, and will be going to something else.

    The stats often never add up, syncing issues with Apple Watch, and the app will randomly resume a run after you’ve finished it.
  • Must Have for Mountain Bikers

    I’m still relatively new to mountain biking. Been riding for 3 years now, but mostly at a beginner level, as I typically don’t ride enough to qualify myself as an intermediate rider. Without fact-checking, I’d say I average 6-8 rides per year, although I recently set a goal to ride at least once every weekend (tomorrow will be 5 in a row). What I do know is that every single person I ride with uses Strava, including some very experienced riders. Some use GPS watches and upload their rides when they get home, and some, like me, use the cell phone app. If you’ve got the latest Apple Watch like me, Strava can be used very conveniently without getting your phone out of your bag/pocket. The app offers a great way to track your mileage, speed, elevation, segments/trails ridden, personal record times, etc. - all with relative accuracy. Over the past few years, they have added hiking and a few other modes of travel, which I think is great (would love to see skiing and snowboarding eventually). The app is a great way to track your own rides, see what friends are doing, see who else is riding trails, and see how fast others are riding, to help set goals and even compete. You can upload ride photos directly into Strava. You can also set it up for several different bikes, if you’ve got more than one, unlike me. There are even challenges and clubs you can join, although I haven’t explored much of that feature. I use Strava, for free, for the very simple function of tracking my rides, and checking out what my friends are riding. The only thing I don’t think Strava provides, which I use Trailforks for, is finding available trails and trail systems in any area.

    Somehow I got signed up for strata premium at 7.99/month plus tax. It was charging my iTunes account for 6 months without my knowledge and I never even used the app. I wasn’t even running!

    I pay for this app and the last thing I want to see in my feed is ads for Wahoo or anything else. Please stop screwing with the app or you will loose me for sure.

    I may not ride with a tablet, but it is definitely my device of choice to review rides and give kudos. So, no kudos to you. Also, if I can’t get heart rate from my swims, you can’t track stress and thus the only reason I’m currently a premium member goes away. Please, capture the hr I give to you so that I don’t have to cancel my premium membership.
  • It used to be great!

    It feels more and more like Instagram after each update. This latest update discloses the watch I use. I feel like I’m spamming my friends with a Suunto ad every time I post. No one wants to see ads. I won’t do it to my friends even if you pay me. I have to keep all my activities private so no one will see that irritating ad. What’s the point of keeping my premium subscription now? Well, I canceled it. Way to screw things up.

    The app on Android offers options for walking and hiking. Not so on Apple. We keep asking for an update so we too can have these options!!! Please update the APPLE APP!!! Especially for those of us who pay PREMIUM EACH MONTH!!!’

    I use this with my fit but but I am not a runner so I can’t Get the miles with out running and I can’t run other then that I love it it has more features then my Fitbit app does so I use both if it would track my goal miles it would get 5 stars
