  • The app pales compared to iPhone's native mail app

    By Urbanfolkzine
I regularly receive unregulated emails to use the gmail app. I thought I'd address why I find it inferior to the app I had pre-installed on my phone: 1- The app only allows me to see messages dating back to a certain time. 2- the app does not allow me to multi-select or update multiple messages at a time. 3 - the load time it takes to reach older messages is interminable. The gmail app is adequate, but not a suitable replacement for the app that iPhone provides with the phone. The regular entreaties to use it more is a waste of your resources and my time.
  • Spammed me

Spammed me by sending me an email to download the app. Love a company who always forces their “suggestions” on me.
  • iPhone X

    Finally! Support for iPhone X!
  • Can’t merge all the mail together

    By Gwendolyn18
I prefer seeing all of my mail together, but whenever I open the app it shows me the “Promotions” group first, which is the absolute least interesting group of mail that I want to see. I don’t want to have to switch to the “All Mail” group every time I open the app. There is no way to change this setting (I’ve searched the web), and it’s very annoying. It seems like others have had this problem for months and Google has decided to not listen. Another really annoying thing is that there are ads sitting in my inbox, looking as if they’re apart of my inbox. I’m getting rid of this app and going to another mail app.
  • Doesn’t allow file attachments?

    By horbhorbhorb
You can attach images but not other files - the only way to attach a file is to upload to google drive then attach a link to it. Don’t know why they decided to leave out one of the most basic email features to exist Also asks you to install chrome every time you click a link with no option to stop asking.
  • Excellent and Beautiful

    Wonderful and distinctive
  • Buggy

    By Bluebox910
The newest version is buggy. It isn't clearing new email (it still marks them as unread after I've read them) and if I delete an email it comes back. This even happens if I read/delete mail using a web browser. It shows up again on the app. It's also not showing new mail that's not in my primary folder, at least not consistently.
  • Mostly fine, with a touch of pop-up ads

    By ZZninepluralZalpha
Provides a functional and for the most part desktop-equivalent interface to Gmail, although many actions are a bit too buried in submenus and hamburger buttons. However, it sees every clicked link as an opportunity to push the Chrome advertising agent—err, browser—on the user, and the “Don’t ask me this again” toggle gets conveniently turned off on every app update. Hey Google: there’s a reason Chrome is not on my phone, and it’s NOT for a lack of constant skeevy “Did you know we make this too?!” pop-up ad behavior...
  • Clear format button, like desktop?

    By Psychor
Gmail is still missing a way to clear formatting like on the desktop. This needs to be added so when cutting and copying text emails don’t go out with mixed formatting. Thanks.
  • Good tho
