  • Latest version fail

I’ve used the “free” version for years without issue. The latest version stops streaming frequently to try and play ads. Since the subscription price is not worth it to me, I’m deleting the app and will just use website based streaming or other apps. Unless you’re a sports fanatic I wouldn’t waste device memory or money on it.

It’s a radio app and that’s what it does. Choose a channel and play it I love it
  • I paid for premium, they are sneaking in pre-roll ads

I’ve been using TuneIn for years. I eventually upgraded to premium because I wanted the ad-free experience. Now, they have pre-roll ads. They claim that these ads are NOT supposed to run on premium, yet they do. Yes indeed. So I contact tech support and they tell me to send them this and that so they can clean it up. Are you kidding me? The QA department is the CUSTOMER? I’m looking for something better and when I find it I’m outta here. Also, they are constantly changing the user interface and you get to be *surprised* when you open the app after the *upgrade*. I guess it’s too hard to send release notes to those of us that PAID to use this software.
  • Skips, ad stops play.

I frequently pause this app when listening to talk radio. When I hit play, I should be able to skip through the commercials in 30 second increments but it usually skips all of the stuff I missed while it was paused and begins live play. I use this app on my phone with headphones while farming. Lately, an advertisement will pop up and stop the app from working. When the ad is finished, the app does not restart. I then have to stop, take off my gloves and restart the app. This is completely unacceptable and I will have to find something better if this is not fixed soon. These problems need to be fixed.

This used to be my number one go to music player app. Out of the blue, (no updates, no downloads, no nothing), whenever I launch a station now, the app crashes. Go figure. Goodbye TuneIn radio. Hello Pandora. UPDATE JUNE 2018: Still using v11 on my phone. V14 doesn't let you see the remaining time on the sleep timer like v11 does. Please bring that feature back. UPDATE AUGUST 2018: I'm bumping my rating back to 3 stars but still desire the countdown timer to show time remaining when sleep timer is set. V11 is still on my iPhone and still shows that. Come on coders, it can't be that hard to fix. We don't need to see the Zzzz's. UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2018: 14.7 released. Still have not addressed my biggest beef above about the number of minutes remaining on the sleep timer. UPDATE OCTOBER 2018: 14.8 released. Still showing the Zzzzz’s rather than the minutes remaining in the sleep timer. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2018: v15.0 released. Still showing the Zzzzz’s rather than the minutes remaining in the sleep timer. Updates aren’t always improvements for users. UPDATE DECEMBER 2018: v15.2 released. Still showing the Zzzzz’s rather than the minutes remaining in the sleep timer. UPDATE FEBRUARY 2019: v15.4 released. Still no fix. Showing the Zzzzz’s rather than the minutes remaining in the sleep timer. UPDATE FEBRUARY 2019: v15.5 released. Still no fix. Same comment as above. UPDATE MARCH 2019: v15.8 released. Sleep Timer still showing Zzzzz’s and not the remaining time on the timer. So sad. One thing is becoming clear. Developers must not read reviews. UPDATE APRIL 2019: v15.8.3 released. No fix. Sleep Timer still showing Zzzzz’s and not the remaining time on the timer.

So, you are listening to a podcast, but are taking a break for a few minutes to do something else. Now, you switch back to the app and discover that TuneIn kicked you out of the stream, but puts a speaker symbol next to the most-recently played episode. You may rightfully think that you can simply continue where you left off by selecting that podcast again, but you would be very mistaken. TuneIn does not remember how far into the podcast you were, it simply starts from scratch. Nice ... not. Why does it kick you back to the overview screen after you had placed the app into the background for a few minutes, and why can’t it remember the playhead position? An enigma wrapped in a mystery that only the talented programmers at TuneIn will know the answers to. I personally am still using this program to listen to NPR, but wouldn’t mind finding a smarter app.

Why can’t you cancel subscription from the app?Why do you have to go through so many things just to unsubscribe?
