A simple yet powerful app that combines science with simplicity so you can be notified of real-time severe weather warnings that affect your locations. NOAA Weather Alerts has been updated for iOS 10 and beyond. With this major update comes a sleek new design, new alerts, and new weather radar. NOAA Weather Alerts sends you storm-based (or polygon) alerts via push notification so you can be notified of real-time severe weather warnings that affect your locations. Storm-based (or polygon) alerts help reduce false alarms from county-based alerts by alerting you to severe weather based on your exact location within a county. Why is that important? Because county-based alerts warn you even if your location in the county is not within the threatened area, effectively giving you a false alarm. Receive storm-based push notifications for 45 different types that focus on the most Severe Weather Warnings. View alerts on the weather map to see severe weather warning boxes where dangerous weather is happening. Tap the alert to view its info. • Tornadoes and Thunderstorm watches and warnings • Flood watches and warnings • Hurricane and Tropical Storm forecast tracks • Hurricane and Tropical Storm watches and warnings • Storm Tracks with detailed storm information (requires Future Weather in-app subscription) • Winter storm watches and warnings • Marine and coastal alerts New Layers on the weather map let you see recent weather activity from the last 6 to 12 hours. • Radar • Clouds • Clouds & Radar together • Wind Speed • Snow Cover • Temperatures • Water Temperatures • Road Weather • Earthquakes • Future Weather (in-app purchase subscription required) • Lightning Alerts and notifications (in-app purchase subscription required) Enhance your app with a Future Weather auto-renewing subscription for purchase within the app for $0.99/month. Lightning lets you: • See lightning strikes on the map within 150 miles of a selected location • Receive lightning strike push notifications for your locations Please note the following about Future Weather's and Lightning's auto-renewing subscriptions: • Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase • Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period • Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal • Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user's Account Settings after purchase • No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during active subscription period • Privacy Policy: • Terms of Use: • Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable Additional features include: • Install and go, no complex setup. • Select opacity of radar images for your preference. • Near real-time, shows the latest radar images within minutes of being gathered. • Sharp radar images even on retina displays that show the latest radar images within minutes. • Get detailed and trustworthy forecasts for all your locations. • Check the current weather and forecast for any point on the map. • Bookmark multiple locations easy access to your favorite places. • Current conditions, hourly and five-day forecasts alongside detailed weather information, including pressure readings for all your locations. • Does NOT Provide Audible Alerts

    By D.S.Adams
I purchased this app because it claimed to provide alerts by weather type within a radius of your location, but they are only visual alerts, in app, which requires you to click on the little alert button in the top right to view the actual alert. Free weather apps do more than this.
  • Not reliable, no alerts anymore

    By Dodge555
This app cannot be trusted. I have reset it a million times and never get alerts anymore
  • Point Proven

By deleting my review you have proven my point for me. Thanks!
  • Used to love it

    By Jkurouda
I used to love this app, but after an update, it's never worked properly. I don't get alerts. It resets then and turns alerts off. I turn them back on, get alerts for a short time...then they stop, and I find that they've reset again. Very frustrating.
  • Used to be great

Used to be flexible and customizable alerts... the radar addition is nice, but not what I purchased this app. The loss of alerts by distance, type, location, etc makes the “alert” part of the name misleading.
  • Excellent Alert App!

    By DGoodrow
This thing works flawlessly everytime a storm is in the area. Best $3 I ever spent!
  • No iOS 11 Support?

    By Jagx91
I don't get alerts because I have iOS 11. I don't understand. Should be an easy fix. I paid for the app.
  • What happened???

    By MystikalMomma
I have had this app for over 3 years now and have had all my people in the app so I can make sure they are safe. I had the alerts set for each person I was just talking about this app being awesome and went to show a friend all of my people are gone from the app and when I put them back in it doesn’t show a way to set the alarms for them???? This app will be a five again if this is fixed!! Please help
  • Newer Version Disapointing

    By JerryS1964
Not sure when it changed, but at one time you could customize the settings for notifications by selecting the type of event and the distance from your location to receive the notification. The notifications are now done on a county basis instead. IT’S NOW NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER TYPE OF WEATHER APP! Oh, and if not sure what I’m talking about, look at the pictures in the App Store and you will see the Alert section and Event section that is now not available! Hopefully the developers will bring this app back and restore the best feature it once had!!!
  • Not Alerting

    By Voldemonkey
There are multiple reports of the app not allowing and the best they can do is fix voice over text in v 5.3.4? New version stopped alerting and even showing that there were still active alerts from earlier. Needs some fine tuning. Tried several uninstall and reinstalls. This IS version 5.2.
