  • New paywall

Used to be a great app, but no so many previously free features are put behind a paywall and the app is unusable. It’s fine to add new features on premium, but adding existing features to a paid only plan is a scummy move.

Too many ads recently make using this a pain in the butt!

Even though I buy wine thru Vivino, I must watch videos/advertising to use the app now, unless I subscribe to be add free. I’ve been using the free app for a few years. Purchasing wine from Vivino should waive the app subscription.

I used to recommend this app to wine lovers. Vivino grew thabks to its community with ratings, inventory and pictures. But it changed its business model, now basics functions are under paid wall. No more value to enrich the “open” community which has been closed. We pay for good products- not just product. If my ratings have no value, my orders go somewhere else

I was a huge fan of this app and frequently recommended it to others. I will no longer do that. The change to a subscription “premium” service was a horrible idea and I think will limit their appeal to new and experienced wine lovers. The app is essentially unless now unless you buy the subscription. At least why not incentivize people who buy wine through the app to get “premium” version for free as a thank you. Very poor marketing changes.

Went from ease of use to barely usable and frustrating if you’re in the free version. Will try the new update but may be time to delete.

i really like the app. i don’t drink wine a lot but it’s been helpful in choosing wines at the liquor store and restaurants. the app no longer allows you to consider a list of wines and provide the same information. now they charge $4/mo. for that same option, which was free!!! you can’t go backwards!!! for a casual user like me, i’ll no longer use the app. f them. they just sent me a response in that by charging a fee, they’ll be able to provide more service. however, i used it yesterday in clear daylight and the app could not provide the correct bottle, only giving me a review on a merlot, not the chardonnay i photographed. now im just using the internet to find what i need. you’ve gone too far.

I used this app to buy most of my wine collection over the last several years. Also used it to research and classify my wines, recommended to every friend that was a wine lover. Now I can hardly stand to use the app. The update inserts a bunch of unwanted ads, and also affected the former smooth and easy functionality that was so convenient. I haven’t bought anything from vivino in the last year, they used to have solid deals with free shipping on quantity orders. I’ve purchased probably 300 bottles through the app. Now everything is priced at or above local stores and the app is no longer a joy to use. Such a shame, I was formerly a HUGE fan.

Today, we’ve changed our minds about the Vivino app, after experiencing an extremely loud and long and annoying ad for online gambling right after we hit a function button. It’s very embarrassing to have this happen in the middle of a store. We rate you one star for this.
