I have used it for a long time now for passwords, and other important and sensitive information. Useful, portable, and syncs across all of my electronics. Easy to add when I get a new device. Recommend highly.
  • Autofill does not work and customer support never responded

I got this app because it said it supports autofill for passwords. My device, operating system, and version of safari all matched up. Despite me following all the directions, auto fill failed. I sent the support team of this app a detailed email of my issue but they ignored me. Too bad because this app could have been great with autofill working. Now I have to manually copy and paste any time I want to enter a password.

I started with the iphone app years ago then installed the desktop version on 2 mac mini's. It's easy to use, stable, syncs across devices and the developer has held to the following core principles (which are important IMO): 1. Local storage of secure data - no interaction with the outside world (thank you!). 2. Not a subscription based model. I'd be happy to pay for major updates to keep the this software alive and well for this reason alone. Thank you, and best wishes in the new year (2024)!
  • Have used for years. Still is best pw app.

FIRST: You need a PW manager. Get one and use it for everything, always. Do it RIGHT NOW. Do not wait. SECOND: Buy DataVault. Seriously. It has all the world-class features you'd expect, and they don't soak you with a fee every month to continue to use their product. Plus they've not been hacked like LastPass and others. Nothing is 100% secure, but I'm very glad I chose DV now. I've used DataVault for more than a DECADE now. It is the single most effective ADHD compensation system I use. I have it on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, and I use it religously to record every log-in, PW, account, serial number... you name it. It syncs via iCloud perfectly (though sometimes with a bit of a lag so I have to force the sync, but that's easy), and it's never failed me. ALL my PWs are now super secure (most are 20 random characters!), and changing them regularly on all my ultra-sensitive accounts is easy with the PW generator. The fact they are one of the few PW mangers that has avoided moving to a subscription model further cements my loyalty. And yet, it has been regularly updated over the years, alwasy compatible with new versions of Mac OS and iOS, and their customer service is responsive. I will gladly buy an upgrade when they eventually version up because continuing to support solid, dependable, indespensible apps I use every day like DataVault is a no brainer. Thanks for more than a decade of peace of mind and support, Ascendo!

Like DataVault. It creates good passwords. I'm not tech saavy so unable to use all it has to offer. Will look for a utube to show me how to do things.
  • Love it. No yearly subscription!

This app is great. I hate the idea of apps charging you yearly to keep on using an app. That's problematic because if you stop paying, you lose access to your passwords. This app is simple to use. Syncs across devices. You can save passwords offline and backup as you like. I'd happily pay $ to buy new versions of this app and I hope the developer keeps updating it in the future.

I have used DataVault for years, in reality I probably use this 8 or 10 times a day. It has always worked flawless for me, I would have a hard, and unsecure, time without it. I am somewhat getting away from my Mac and goung back to the PC for the sheer power and games. I contacted Ascendo and they suggested to easy ways to port my data over to the new machine. They were very helpful and responded to my email within minutes, that is great customer service and the way it should be done. Thank you! :)
