Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, our enthusiasm for the outdoors was cultivated at a young age by trips to the Columbia River Gorge, Bend, Mt. Rainer, St. Helens, etc. After college we sought out a new challenge and decided to tackle Mt. Rainer. After months of training we’d reached our goal and attained Columbia Crest on September 7th, 2008. In the weeks that followed we resolved to keep up our training regimen of weekly hikes to stay in shape. Idle trail talk led us to set a goal for ourselves: explore all the hikes in Harvey Manning and Ira Spring’s 55 Hikes around Snoqualmie Pass. Before long, we decided it would be fun to track our progress, and hikingwithmybrother.com was born. The website has improved a great deal over the years. Our trip reports focus on recommending hikes we like, detailing the pitfalls, capturing the essence of the hike in pictures, and striving to give a little extra background to the hikes we do. We’ve moved beyond the confines of Snoqualmie Pass, while still working toward our original goal. Along the way we've met a lot of hikers and outdoor lovers, as well as partnering with backpacker.com, wta.org, and nwhikers.net. Today we continue to hike almost every week, but we no longer do it simply for the exercise, we also do it for everyone that follows hikingwithmybrother.com and enjoys up-to-date trail reports, out of the way destinations, and adventuresome hikes. We hope you like what we've put together for you here at hikingwithmybrother.com and use us as a resource in the future. Please feel free to drop us a line at hikingwithmybrother@gmail.com.

  • Embedded maps don't work

The embedded maps don't show up. Also, it would be awesome if we could load the GPS tracks in the app.

I saw on Brothers website that the app was updated and the crashing was addressed. The app now runs great. I have started-used-shutdown the app about a dozen times without issue. Likes - the site has all the same info, pics, and maps as the primary site including the main map with all hikes identified with selectable pins. Dislikes - none Suggestions for improvement - 1- I miss the " selector" of the web based solution (easy, moderate, difficult filter) and trail type-filters (lakes, lookout, winter trails, etc). 2- when viewing trail info, use the white space to the left of the map to scroll past the map and get to the write up below the map. If you click on the map you will manipulate the map only. I mention this because I believe some users will miss the wealth of info below the trail map. Great job guys, keep up the great work.
