  • Good app but server doesn’t work sometimes

Things were great for a while and somehow an update screwed it all up for me. A basic thing got dropped from its features. Screen not falling asleep on you while playing in the app would be great. I hate having to turn off the feature in my phone settings only to remember to turn it back on when I’m done watching it. It’s about to burn a hole in my pocket or start on fire if I forget. A bit of an exaggeration but it’s frustrating that I never had to screw with things until a recent update. iOS 11.4 on iPhone 8 Plus. 2 stars UPDATE: Either app update or IOS 11.4.1 fixed the issue with screen locking during playback. Now if I could keep my server on so my paid subscription could work while outside of my home. Update: server is crap!! Keeping you at two stars. I’ve paid for the server for about 6 months now maybe more and it’s has been broken more than it’s worked. Crappy system if you don’t want to spend hours tweaking your pc to try and make it work
  • can't read my older Mac Pro server!!

Updating my iOS devices BEYOND what my Mac Pro server provides is reprehensible. My 1500 movies will be looking for another media server. Backward compatibility would have maintained the utility of your products and preserved the loyalty of users who have powerful, 24/7 systems in service.
  • Offline issue

Hi! I love this app so much but there’s been an issue that’s been bugging me. Sometimes when I’m using the app it won’t let me watch anything because it says it’s off line. This happens even though I’m contracted to WiFi. If there’s any way for me to fix this issue lmk and I’ll change my rating to 5 stars!

Please bring back the functionality of allowing you to select local synced content as a server. I used this quite a bit when traveling and to play shows for my children. It is very difficult to find synced content on the new version.

  • Lossless music playback bug persists

There has been a music playback bug for years now, which affects iOS and macOS. Since the Plex apps are just web apps wrapped in a container the iOS and macOS versions use WebKit and Plex playback has this bug with that engine. Firefox browsers work fine on macOS. If a track advances to the next one the sound stops but the playback head moves as if it’s fine. If you advance forward or back with the 10/30 seconds buttons the sound usually resumes. Looks like a streaming issue. Weird that it’s been like this for so long.
  • No H265 MKV support

Loved this app till my pc friends rightfully wanted to save space on there servers and transcoded all there titles to h265 with an mkv wrapper. Now I can’t use any apple devices...computer, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV...fun wile it lasted. A roku is cheaper anyway. I’m too young to have the Apple ecosystem shrink because I’m too old to start over with something different.
  • Please please ad CarPlay support!

Plex has been my go to now for all of my personal music. As someone with several several thousands of FLAC files, I would love the ability to use CarPlay with this, not to mention, I have unlimited data so this would finally put it to use. Please please Plex add this!
  • New interface is a disaster

Plex used to be pretty good, but the new version is a dog. Even on my iPhone 8+ the interface is stuttery and jerky as it CONSTANTLY tries to talk to the server. Which brings me to the second issue... HOW THE HECK DO I SELECT THE SERVER NOW??? I have a ton of music synced to my phone, but I can’t filter just content actually on my phone!!! Seriously, come on Plex!!! I don’t want to use data, and can’t recall what is and is not actually on my phone. This gets even more of a mess when in areas with bad connections, obviously drop out happens. Just list what I have on the phone, you know... like you used to do!!! I can select for movies and tv, just not music. So...syncing... this has always been a total mess on Plex. It took almost a month to sync 150G of music. A MONTH!!!! WTH??!!? Syncing is just plain broken, which is really the only reason many users have Plex on their phones in the first place!!! I REALLY wish the Plex team would focus on fixing the 95% features most people want and spend less time on the BS features 1% use. I used to love Plex, but I can feel my blood pressure rise every time I contemplate Plex these days.
  • Incredible utility when paired with a TV tuner!

I’ve used Plex for years and have always loved how easy it works. It’s amazing how I can just click a button and have a piece of media automatically transcode and download to my phone to watch on a plane. But now that I’ve paid for Plex Pass and paired it with my server which has a TV tuner, it’s like magic. I can tap a button to view live TV, and under the covers, Plex is tuning my server at to the right channel, encoding video on the fly, and streaming that live video to me from home thousands of miles away to Hawaii over a crappy hotel Internet connection. And it just works. Add all that to the stuff Plex has done for years, like serving my music and syncing locally. It’s a must have for any media enthusiast.
