Know where your kids are, control their screen time and manage what they access and buy online. AT&T Secure Family Plus delivers parents peace of mind: • Location Tracking – Track a family member on an interactive map. • Arrival/Departure Alerts – Receive an alert when your child enters or leaves a location (home, school, etc.). • Pause Internet – Limit Online distractions (time for homework, time for bed). • Filter & Block Content – Filter or block Apps and Online content based on age appropriate settings. • App Purchase Block – Block your child’s ability to make App purchases. AT&T Secure Family Plus is free for the first 30 days. After the first 30 days, you will be billed $7.99 each month for up to 10 lines. Service auto renews every 30 days unless cancelled. Easy Setup and Pairing for Parents: Solution requires pairing with AT&T Secure Family Companion, a free app+ that must be downloaded to the child’s device. With your child’s device in hand: Step 1 Send an invite text from your AT&T Secure Family app on your phone to your child’s phone. Step 2 Open the text on your child’s phone and tap the link. Step 3 Tap the AT&T Secure Family Companion download button and follow the instructions that appear on your child’s phone screen + AT&T Secure Family Companion can be found in the App Store and only works with the purchase of AT&T Secure Family Plus which is $7.99/month. Other important information about AT&T Secure Family: − After first 30 days, $7.99/mo. will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscription will automatically renew each month unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current month’s billing period. − To view, modify or cancel your subscription, go to account settings in iTunes. No cancellation of the current month’s subscription is allowed. No refunds or credits for partial subscriptions terms. App requires iOS v. 10 or higher − AT&T Secure Family Companion is not compatible with AT&T Mobile Security Plus. If you wish to continue with the purchase, you must either remove AT&T Mobile Security Plus from your iTunes account or downgrade to AT&T Mobile Security Basic before adding AT&T Secure Family Companion to your child’s device.   • Doesn’t work!

    Like most things AT&T first introduces, this app also doesn’t work. You follow instructions and the app simply freezes or crashes.
  • Ruined this service

    The old ATT app was fine. This app is a disaster. You have to pair to your child’s phone and add a VPN. What it did before was fine. I don’t want to be that intrusive into my kids life just being able to set some basic boundaries was fine. This is crazy and they can just delete it anyway. What’s the point. This is not something I am paying for. What a terrible implementation. Oh - and you actually have spelling errors in the text in the app. Fail all around.

  • App Does Not Work!!!!!

    I was notified that Family Map no longer exists and I had to download the Family Secure app. I’ve had it for a day. It kept giving me messages and making me reset my password. I wish I would have kept track of how many times I had to uninstall and reinstall the app only to be told “I don’t have access to this information”... I have one more phone to pay off through AT&T. Going to research other phone company plans at this point. Tired of giving AT&T well over $300 a month only to get numerous “overage” charges and phones/apps that don’t work.

  • Can’t use ... so frustrating

    Horrible experience with this app and customer service around this app to date. Can not log in, AT&T tech support hasn’t been educated on the transition from Family Map and Family Map app just disappeared from my phone two days ago. Get an error message that says “Whoops!” when the log in doesn’t go through with no other explanation. Would have thought AT&T would have troubleshooted this better and trained it staff before launching and removing the legacy option.

    All this app offers are things that are already available in iOS screen time. I used smart limits solely for being able to see the calls and texts coming in and out. An the ability to block cell use!! Apparently lotssss of parents feel the same way. Yet att is choosing to not listen!!!!
  • Unsatisfactory

    I’m afraid I have to agree with the majority of users, this app is a step down from the previous family map. Locations are way off, even as we are in the same location, and app doesn’t update as often. It’s not worth the cost at this time, and shouldn’t have been released like this. I’m contemplating leaving the service if updates are not adequately produced including fixing bugs in the program.
  • Terrible App

    This app has so many issues it’s crazy to think it’s AT&Ts answer to improving on smart limits. First the time limit function does not work. There is no way to turn off school time limits. If you want the phone on during the day every day you have to set school hours to sometime in the middle of the night to trick the system. Also the app shuts down the phone at random times that are not set. I had to unpair my kids phone to get it to work again. If you want to turn off cell service independent of WiFi, you can’t. We use Disney Circle to manage WiFi. I need at&t to allow me to turn off cell service at bunt. Also once you set a time limit or pause the phone it’s not easy to add more time. If I want to give her 15 more minutes or unpause she has to turn her phone off and on to get it to work. Please give us something that is easy to use and works. All I want from at&t is a way to turn off cell service at night and block data if she goes over her limit. All the other functions I have covered with apps that actually work. Last point—there is NO support for this app. When you call at&t no one knows about the app and no one has access to it; not even tech support. They asked me for my user name and password so they could see the app. Seriously???
  • Lost ability to limit who calls my child

    With this forced switch to Secure Family and retirement of Smart Controls, I’ve now lost the ability to block and limit who can call my teenager. I tried to download another AT&T App to do this, but you have to install it on the user’s phone and they can easily unblock numbers. Plus, it told me (after going through the download and set up), his line wasn’t eligible due to some HD error? It didn’t make any sense. The loss of this parental control feature is a serious fail for a mobile phone security app. It feels more like a downgrade. It was a NIGHTMARE to install and set up the app on my teen’s phone. I went through the process 10-15 times before it finally worked. Even then, it doesn’t offer much that isn’t already available through the built in iPhone content restrictions. Not sure we’ll be keeping this subscription. Parents need to be able to BLOCK UNWANTED CALLS.
