  • Worst app

I do not like the current version of this app. Previous updates were better. Terribly organized.
  • Slow app

WAY TOO MANY VIDEOS all over the interface, app is sluggish now.
  • So difficult to navigate

There needs to be a better way to find sporting events within this app. The live tab has no categorization and once you search on the calendar I can never find any event whatsoever.... How do people find the things they want to watch here?? The design is so counterintuitive.
  • Pettiest app/company

Espn is so petty. If they aren’t covering the sporting expect 0 alerts. If it happens to be on their family of channels they’ll beat it like a drum. Horrible app.

  • Just wanted to watch replays

Finding replays to watch was difficult. Finding replays to watch without the scores being spoiled was even more difficult. This app seems good if you want to watch live events or know the news and scores of past events. Not what I had hoped for. On the plus side, the app was very smooth and seemed to work very well. 3 stars for being good at what it does but not meeting my expectations.
  • Rip off

I use this app solely to watch rugby which I did happily on Watch ESPN via my cable subscription. Then ESPN introduced this app and forced me to pay. The app is much inferior, it is difficult to locate Super Rugby games with out spoilers, it frequently crashes and many of the games don’t even exist on-demand. This weekend I failed to find the games involving New Zealand teams. Pretty disappointed all round.
  • Frustrating Experience

    By finian1108
For every of the three or four efforts I made to watch MLS matches through this app on my TV, I had to request customer service — each time the issue preventing streaming was unique. Time lost; games not watched. I don’t go out of my way to complain and do so only when something promised is egregiously bad. This is that instance: Avoid ESPN + at all cost.
  • Nice When It Works

Update #2: As promised I have changed my review to a 4 star. There wasn’t an update for 3 weeks it looks like but it allowed me to use Spectrum to watch the Cavs game. Only left the 5th star off because of how long it wasn’t working and streaming quality. Like I said before, it might’ve been a Spectrum issue, but the streaming issue would still be on the ESPN end. Overall much better and I haven’t had the lagging or freezing or audio cutting out. Just the quality doesn’t get up to full HD and stay that way. If you could fix this last thing, 5th star coming your way. Very happy that I can watch it now though! Update-tvOS App: App is mildly improved on the Apple TV. HOWEVER it is really of no use to me at the moment. Trying to watch the Cavs and Pacers game and it is saying that it’s not part of my TV package...only except that it IS. It’s working on my iPhone though so it must be on the Apple TV only. In case someone actually reads this, when I click on my tv provider (Spectrum) it entirely skips the part where I log in and I think that is the issue. I think it’s seeing “Yes you have TV” and that’s it. So it doesn’t pull the credentials of my login. It’s frustrating that this always happens during the games I want to watch. How much money is your company worth? I use an app that is developed by TWO people and it works flawlessly. I’m sure you have more money than them. Please fix it or consider me another customer you’ll lose. Original Review-tvOS App: It would be nice if I could watch my sporting events without the audio and video pausing separately and collectively at several points. Seems to happen every few minutes. Tried logging in and out, closing the app, uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing helps. Constantly freezes. Then when it FINALLY is working, it works by showing my event in grainy, sub-standard definition resolution. My internet speed is 60mbps so there's no problem with that. I can stream 4K titles without any issue. It appears on my router (which shows instant throughput) that it isn't always pulling data which might be the reason for the hiccups. iOS App: Same issues with the tvOS app when it comes to streaming. Notification links don't take me to the right notification. Often times the app just closes without warning and reason. I believe with the amount of money you are charging us and the amount of money you make through advertisements and partnerships, you could make apps that work properly. But then, this is why your profits are shrinking and you are clearing expenses by cutting your staff. Please fix these apps. I would LOVE to be able to give you a 5 star review. I actually just knocked it down to a 1 star because now my stream for the Ohio State game is unwatchable.
  • Worst app ever

I saw when ESPN first start charging 4.99 for the app saying you can watch sports threw our app making it look like you don’t have to have a tv provider which nobody does everything is stream y’all are limiting yourself to your actual customer base cause of that rendering this app use cause everyone will always use their web browser for ESPN not the the app especially if I can’t watch espn on it duh what am I paying for nothing literally this app and subscription is a scam almost except for Apple allows it so there you go ZERO STAR APP FOR SURE!!!!!
