  • I complained about Match shuting down my account

The day after I opened my account my account was closed by Match. After tying to contact them several times they finally responded telling me that they could not give me the reason for doing it because of their "privacy" policy. I did absolutely nothing wrong. I didn't even contacted any person (didn't even had the chance before they shut down the account. I've used eHarmony and Bumble before - no problems whatsoever. I wrote this in a review and the developer responded by telling me that I had issues accessing the account to open a new one (???????) So... they didn't even understand what I said: they shut it down - no reason. And, BTW, they kept my money (permium subscription).
  • Male users get banned with no proper review cycle

48 hours in this is the most deceiving dating app in big city areas. They ban male users indiscriminately without providing any further context. Save your money and time not worth the trouble

  • Must pay extra to like recommended profiles

I was on Match a couple of years ago and it was fine. So, I thought I'd try it again. My understanding was that my subscription fee allowed to to view and like other members whose profile matched my criteria. Apparently not. While I haven't had any daily recommendations for about a week; I do have several "highlighted" members for me to consider- most of whom look nice and match my criteria. But, you can't just like these profiles; the only option is to send a "super like" which you have to pay extra for. I have sent several emails to customer service with only canned responses "we'll get back to you." I've only been back on for two weeks- paid for six months- my next step is to cancel my subscription and dispute the credit card charge as I am not receiving the paid for service.
  • Repeatedly asking to accept Match Safety Pledge

I connected with someone and can’t chat with them because the app repeatedly throws up the Match Safety Pledge acknowledgement. I’ve removed the app, restarted my phone, reinstalled it and it’s still happening.
  • Run away from Match.com

Match used to be a super reputable site for matchmaking. It’s not anymore. The amount of up charge for things that are super basic is crazy … for a silver membership at $40 a month you’d expect to be able to set your preferences in your date. You can’t. So there’s an onslaught of people who you have no interest in dating. It doesn’t feel safe or beneficial. I’m less than 24 hours in and wish I wouldn’t have invested at all. You’re better off using Hinge or Bumble which is disappointing in and of itself. I wouldn’t recommend this to ANY ONE. It’s not worth the money and isn’t set up for success.
  • Beware you may be blocked by Match and you will never understand why!

I never write reviews, even if I’m not happy with the service. But in this case it is simply impossible to refrain. I was registered on the free version of Match for about two months, but since there is practically no way to respond or react on likes, for the first time in my life I decided to buy a paid subscription. On the third day, I simply couldn’t log into my page: neither from the mobile app nor from the computer, so contacted with Technical support. I was informed that case transferred to another department and sent me list of questions to fill out. I answered, provided personal information, contacts, and even proposed to provide my US ID. Someone named "J" responded with words of support and promised that will check everything for me; in the letter also was added a link of Terms of Use. "J" never got back to me. While I was waiting for a response, I wrote an email again and asked Match to explain what exactly clause of the Terms of Use was violated by me, since I had read the Terms and did not find any violation on my part. New person "K" replied to me: "We received your inquiry requesting information about your Match account. Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose specifics about any Match account, including your own." Additionally they attached a link of Privacy Policy and a Terms of Use. I again sent a request with asking to provide a deep investigation of my case, because could happened some misunderstanding, so following response was required, btw this time without delays…..: "Please know, your profile and photos are no longer available on the site and your account is no longer accessible. We will not be able to give you access to your account since it has been terminated. Any new accounts created will be subject to review and will be immediately terminated." The answer, in my opinion, is very contradictory, since they have already deleted my account, but at the same time they threaten to delete any new one, that might mean that Match still has information about me. I started new interesting conversations and just suddenly disappeared from the site…..This deeply offends and violates all human rights - as a minimum; as a maximum there are serious grounds to seek a legal protection.

I wouldn’t recommend this site. Would highly recommend you not pay for it. As soon as I paid I’ve $100 for a subscription I was locked out. Apparently the new cell number I have once belonged to someone else who had a Match account. They don’t have the skills or contingency within their iT department to resolve the issue. If they have your money you could possibly face the same problems getting it resolved. I had to request a refund from Apple. Are you looking to meet someone? Match found a way to make it even harder and more stressful. And as for the automated message response below, I’ve already been down that hole.
  • They cancelled my account: no explanation

I paid for the premium subscription. Everything in my profile was true. Picture of me were picture of me. One day after, they cancelled my account. I wrote them several times by email asking why. They finally answered: “for security reasons” they do not reveal why. And… they kept my money. I’m a professional and respected person of my community and profession. I would think they should let me know why my account was cancelled…. What did I do wrong? I’ve used eHarmony before this app and Bumble afterwards, and have met serious women in person after chatting and talking on the phone for a few weeks thanks to those apps and even had a serious relationship with one for almost a year with no harm done to either.
