Description

A dive decompression calculator for technical scuba divers. V-Planner presents the VPM decompression model and includes both VPM-B and VPM-B/E model versions. The diver can specify any combination of nitrox or trimix, and as many deco gases as required. Planning methods include both OC and Closed Circuit Rebreather. It includes planning for bailouts with SCR and OC legs in a CCR plan. Includes details of ppO2, END, and gas consumptions. This program includes many of the features from the desktop version such as conservatism adjustments, extended stops, adjustable last stops, the planning monitor system and extensive control over many other planning features. Also included is a set of dive planning tools for calculating best mix, maximum operating depth (MOD), END, EAD and other planning considerations. The Mixer utility for blending nitrox and trimix, is included too.

You should be able to use this V-Planner on a Mac as well as on mobile devices without purchasing a separate software!

Great features to have on your phone! I use the tools all the time for calculating MOD, finding best mix, and telling the kid running the tanks at my dive shop how to blend my trimix without mucking it up! Please listen to your reviewers comments! This is not a cheap app, and consequently, we expect a little more responsiveness to our requests... Too long between versions.... 1) Please add support for multiple set points to accommodate for the newer CCRs as well as the depth that you switch between them. 2) Please change most if not all the sliders to exact value wheels! It is impossible to select an exact value when u are on dry land, let alone on a boat!!! Thanks for listening! My rating goes to five stars once I can use this app without pulling my hair out!
  • Good start towards an iPad version

Been waiting a REALLY long time for a version of VPlanner specifically for the iPad. I'm not sure this is the version I had hoped for. Sliders in the configuration screen are still way too short and would I would much prefer the ability to directly enter various parameter values. It's too difficult to use the short sliders to setup the software, especially RMV/SAC for bottom and deco. Slider for OTU changes values in a non-sensical fashion. Only displays in portrait mode and there's still no way to output to printer. Would be awesome to put the larger screen of the iPad to work and replicate features and layout of the desktop version, e.g. display profile, ability to reverse deco listing, etc. Sets the standard for deco planning in my opinion...I'd just like to see more out of the iOS versions.
  • Big letdown

If you're looking for an iPad version of your desktop vplanner this is not it. If your idea was to get a vplanner to bring with you on a boat to reconfigure dives onsite, save your money. This only plans one dive and has a small fraction of the desktop's capabilities. Considering the price, I expected a lot more. It deserves one star for the letdown factor; I gave it two because I'm a fan of the desktop version.

Perfect for cutting tables in the field. Now, if I could find a waterproof phone case...
  • Only thing missing is iPad Support

The perfect app for all your diving needs now if it only worked on the iPad and had a built in log book it would be perfect. **** Thanks for the great update to 2.0, how about ipad support in the next release!!! ****

Great program. Easier to use than the desktop version. I would really like an ipad version though and a little more description about the settings and configurations in the program so I don't have to bring the instruction manual with me. I bet you would get more people to buy this if you put the word dive in the name somewhere. I found it by typing v-planner in to the search engine. This application is great for planning your technical dive on the site if something changes in your dive profile or the gas you planned for doesn't analyze exactly what you wanted you can adjust your plan on the fly or do some calcs at the fill station. Sport divers don't spend the money on this. It plans deep technical dives and wouldn't be worth your money.
  • Good info but bad what-if.

Terrific tools section and extensive setup options. No way to set an intermediate Sykes stop on deep dives before deco. Bad: computes are not real time so it's hit or miss when selecting gas mixes.

I have been using v-planner for several years and the pda version has more capability than the Iphone version. I recently asked why the Iphone version 1.04 does not allow for lost gas or contigency calculations (5 deeper and 5 minutes longer for instance), but after 3 days have not received a response. The I phone version is user friendly like many of the applications, but definitely not up to par with the desk top or PDA versions. Hope HHS software will add these capabilities soon.
