RadarScope is a specialized display utility for weather enthusiasts and meteorologists that allows you view NEXRAD Level 3 and Super-Resolution radar data along with Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flood and Special Marine Warnings, and predicted storm tracks issued by the US National Weather Service. It can display the latest reflectivity, velocity, dual-polarization, and other products from any NEXRAD or TDWR radar site in the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico, as well as reflectivity and velocity data from Environment Canada radars. These aren't smoothed PNG or GIF images, this is native radar data rendered in its original radial format for a high level of detail. Whether you are scanning reflectivity for a mesocyclone's tell-tale hook echo, trying to pinpoint the landfall of a hurricane's eye wall, or looking for small features like velocity couplets in the storm relative radial velocity product, RadarScope gives you the power to view true radial NEXRAD weather radar on your iOS device and Apple Watch. When there are any Tornado Warnings (outlined in RED), Severe Thunderstorm Warnings (YELLOW polygons), Flash Flood Warnings (GREEN polygons), or Special Marine Warnings (ORANGE polygons) in effect throughout the US, tap the warning button in the top right corner to browse the list of current warnings, view the details, and even zoom to the selected warning on the map. Pinch or stretch to zoom in and out. Drag your finger around the map to scroll. Tap the radar sweep button in the toolbar to switch radars. Select one of the 156 different NEXRAD radar sites and 45 Terminal Doppler radars in the US, 30 other radar sites in Canada, and 2 in the Republic of Korea. Plot your current location by tapping the location button and optionally report it to the Spotter Network. Tap the play button to download and animate over recent images. Display the names of over 25,000 cities and towns on the map as you zoom and scroll. Tap and hold the color legend to see the data values. Meanwhile, RadarScope will retrieve and display updated data automatically and intelligently (approximately every 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the radar scan strategy). You can display data from NOAA's public access web site, our optional WDT feed (the default), or your AllisonHouse subscriber account. Spotter Network members can report their location and view the locations of other spotters. The RadarScope Pro subscription is an optional auto-renewing subscription with two different tiers to choose from. Super-res products are still available to all RadarScope users without purchasing a subscription. RadarScope Pro Tier 1 provides access to real-time lightning data that animates along with the radar loop and up to 20 frames of radar data, including *extended loops* of Super-Res Level 2 data. Tier 1 subscribers can also access a data interrogation tool to quickly determine data values for specific radar pixels and an optional dual-pane mode for viewing two radar products side-by-side. RadarScope Pro Tier 2 combines all the features in Tier 1 with more advanced features, including a 30-day archive of all radar products, estimated hail size contours, rotation (azimuthal shear) contours, and the ability to use subscription features across multiple platforms. If you choose to buy the RadarScope Pro subscription, it will charged to your iTunes account. The subscription will be auto-renewed within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price you originally paid. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal disabled via your iTunes Account Settings after the purchase. Once purchased, the subscription cannot be cancelled during the active subscription period. • Please add CarPlay ‼️

    By Suddenrush
It would be awesome to display the data from the nearest radar in CarPlay. Great for solo storm chasers and people that want to avoid a storm along their route.
  • Best app out there

    By Noteworthaflip
Best app out there. I’ve been using this app for years, and it is my go-to weather app. As a coach of young boys’ baseball, and a technician who travels a three-hour radius of home, knowing what the weather is doing around me is vital. Great app. Great customer support.
  • Unable to rate!

    By Fast_Eagel01
Purchased this App to get enhanced resolution of approaching storm (I have a NOAA App). The App has NOT functioned for the three days I have had it. I merely get a notice that radar data is temporarily unavailable. Obviously, it was useless for this storm and I am having doubts about its future reliability. At this moment I cannot recommendation anyone purchase this product.
  • Best Radar App On The Market!

    By beanfam5
This app is incredibly usefull. This app is actually used by pro storm chasers. Ten dollars is worth the money. This app gives you capabilities no other radar app gives you.
  • iPhone/iPad appp is great, Watch not so much

    By elkriver50
I've used the iPhone/iPad app for years and it remains my goto app for accurate storm tracking. But the implementation on the Apple Watch is very hit or miss. It frequently can't connect to the server, tries and fails to get data, and simply doesn't work. Especially useless if not near my phone. Strange and unintuitive interface also.
  • Great, but..

    By KC1974
Paid for this 8 years ago on both iOS (phone) and Android (tablet). We got some pro features - lighting (now tier 1) and 20 frames (now it’s 6), then they decided to forget us and went with an annual subscription instead. What did us early adopters get? Shafted. I rarely use this now unless it’s to analyze specific storms. The weather underground storm app picks up the rest - including “free” lightning, and now even has individual radar base reflectivity and velocity products with the ability to change tilt elevation.. not as detailed as this, but it does in one package what I used to use radarscope and the weather channel app for.
  • Best radar app I've tried yet, but…

Update: still great after a couple years’ usage. Still highly recommended. There’s a reason you see pros posting screenshots from this app on Twitter. Earlier review… I'll lead with the criticism. The UI could use a layer of polish. I don't need flashiness—and most weather apps go for gaudy, so be thankful—just a little more commitment to feeling a touch more native. OK—best thing: data is sent direct to your phone for rendering locally on your device, and there's no map imagery, just outlines of counties, major roads and cities on black. What this means is you get the info really quickly after the radar site makes the data available. Other apps render that data on their servers end and send you images, which take up more data (and that's slower on low bandwidth connections). I can't independently confirm any of this, but they claim it on their web site and in my brief tests last night seem to confirm. Lastly if you're a pro unlike me, you're going to love all the radar "products" available. As an amateur, I clearly need to read up to learn what all of this is telling me. But I’ve learned a bit, and the “Precipitation Depiction” mode is awesome. I pay the yearly fee (low-level) and continue to feel it offers good value.

This app is for meteorologists, storm chasers, storm spotters or anyone who is weather saavy. It upsets me when anyone rates this app bad when they don't know how to use it. This app is everything you want in radar and more. If you know weather data it can cost as much as $20 to $30 dollars monthly for hi resolution, this app is unbelievable. Hi res reflectivity, hi res velocity, tilt and beam height, shows your position on the maps. Warnings and advisories. Compatible with Spotternetwork and Allisonhouse. If you are a spotter or chaser this is a must!!
  • Radar scope no longer working

    By Vanodude
Not sure what happened with this app, today is January 15, 2018 and for some unknown reason the app is no longer working, It was a great app until a week ago, tried deleting and reloading and then it works for awhile then goes back to error message: "Unable to load image at this time" Also I paid for the pro version, but it won't work with pro version on my other Apple iPad! It keeps asking me to purchase another pro license for my other devices ? That's ridiculous! And Made inquiries for assistance, but nobody responds, Developer support is not available ? Why??
