Description

My Wine Cellar tracks all of your wine purchases and consumption over time. Easily determine which wines are your favorites, which are in stock and which ones are in need of replenishing. My Wine Cellar ships with a full set of varieties and countries to make entry swift and easy. If a match is not found during auto-completion data entry, you can add new wines, wineries, varieties and countries on the fly. Bar code scan feature will search for wines in your cellar to facilitate inventory updates and reconciliation. If a wine is not located, a new entry will be initiated with the bar code entered. This full featured app generates current and historical statistics of you wine usage and provides you with a mechanism for backing up to Dropbox or sharing your entire inventory through email. The free version is feature complete but limits you to a maximum of 8 unique wines. After that, if you are enjoying using the app, a one-time in-app purchase will remove that restriction.

So after 8 bottles you will pay. And at 15, 25. ? 50, 100. Who knows ?! Bar code Scanner works poorly and poor input flow

This is an update to my previous review. It turns out I misunderstood a few things regarding this app. As the developer has responded to my request, I now understand the intention of this app and it’s current state of development and frankly, my attitude has been adjusted! Cheers, and thank you for creating this app!

I can’t give a review yet because I’m still trying to figure out the app. I paid the $3.99 so I can add more but I have the app on my phone and iPad but the information doesn’t cross over. How do I share the info to my other device?
  • It’s great to have the wine collection organized!

This app has an easy to use interface that allowed me to easily catalog all of our wine! I especially like the ability to stack multiple vintages within the same entry to make for a more streamlined view of everything.
  • Must purchase to add 8+ bottles

If you have more than 8 bottles. It is not free. You must pay 3.99 to add more than 8 bottles

The app only allows 8 wines to be entered then it charges you $3.99 for the app. I went back and carefully read the disclosures and this is not clearly mentioned. I’d done the work of adding 8 wines already so I paid it, but if they would have been upfront I’d have searched other apps first before buying this app or starting a list of my wines in it.
  • Very limited features. Prepare to type everything yourself

I was hopeful that an app with bar code scanning would actually be able to look up wines, fill in the fields, and save my thumbs. Alas, no. Even when spending to unlock additional features, this app is no better than Baby’s First Database app. At least it doesn’t crash. Without the Dropbox integration it would only merit one star. Export capability is critical, so it gets a second star.

Our wine cellar is a fairly new project at our house. It required our reclaiming the basement: waterproofing floors and walls then installing racks and lighting and then more lighting. Getting tired of endless cob webs. But, what a wonderful addition to the house! Then we began to stock the racks. But how does one organize ? This app is the answer! My shelves are organized by variety, and within variety, by year. I know this will sound crazy, but sometimes it is relaxing to go to the cellar and simply enjoy being with my collection. And I never get tired of using the features this app offers. So good job and thank you! Come by and we’ll have a glass or two!

The barcode scanner does not look up new wines. You cannot add notes. Very basic and utterly useless.

I absolutely love this app. It has improved my wine experience exponentially. First, I now have a way to keep track of my wine collection and quickly identify what I need to purchase more of and what I like or dislike. Second, the developer is AMAZING. He is super responsive and totally open to feedback and suggestions. I shared some ideas with him and got back to me within a few hours. It is completely worth the money invested. In fact, I would say it is a bargain for what you get!
