  • Severely pay-walled & outdated

This game combines two things I love; town building games and horror. There is no game like it. It kills me that they make f2p so difficult. I have no problems grinding for in game cash, but they have made grinding impossible. You gain very little cash at a slow rate, and then majority of monsters, books, and fun decorations are all cash only. Even some events! And they are priced very high. I am no stranger to games with in-app purchases that cause f2p to grind for the game currency. I get it, the developers need to make money. But out of all the mobile games I have ever played I have never seen a game be so stingy with paywalls. Something’s gotta give. Either A. Make cash grinding easier, B. Lower the prices of things that do cost cash, or C. Give us more things buyable with coins. Because right now only the most basic bland objects are available for coins. It kills me that the game is like this because it has so much potential being so unique for a town building game. This game clearly is not on the top of the developers’ priority list, as a lot of the mechanics of the game are outdated (including the tedious way we have to decorate our towns, rather than having a “creative” mode). Many town building games have begun adding side games (block matching, etc.) so the main game is not just resource-build-repeat. Horror Town has not caught up to this yet. (Perhaps some side games could be another way to earn cash?) I have played this game off and on for years, hoping to fall in love with it every time I return. But the sheer amount that is pay wall locked makes the game too bitter, and quickly. It’s disappointing and I hope one day the developers will take advantage of the game’s uniqueness and put effort into updating it and making it easier for f2p so that more players are attracted to it. A lot of times f2p will become p2p if they love the game enough, but the game currently does not give us the chance to love it. If Goosebumps doesn’t update Horror Town, hopefully another company will get the idea for a spooky “Halloween” town. Lord knows we have enough Farms.

I’ve been playing this game for at least 5 years now. I switched phones & went to open it on my new one & it just crashes. I’ve tried resetting my phone, deleting & redownloading the app.. nothing. Please fix this soon!

The game has a few bugs and I don’t think it was setup properly. The percentages are either off or bugged. I have run the abominable snowman scene at least ten times with no snowballs. I think I have run it at least 20 times so far and have only gotten 1 snowball. But at 50%, I should at least have gotten 10 snowballs. This is the same with the rest of the monsters for me at least. On iPhone 15 pro, when I try to hit the contact us button, it pops but whatever I type is blank and doesn’t show the text. I know the words are there because when I type a bunch of random letters, it shows the spell check lines. When swiping to view the map, if you cross over something that has a menu pop up, it will activate it and the menu will pop up. The inventory is extremely limited starting out. I had to buy it because I was not getting the flasks from the tavern when I would play it. Question: Why are there two currencies? The coins are ok to get early on, but the dollars are basically done with after a little bit into the game and to really make any progress, you’re basically forced to buy the dollars. I don’t think the pice on the dollars are at all worth the items you can buy with them. I can’t really use the treasure dealer since I’m not getting the treasures either. Aside from all this, the game is a good toilet time killer. After that you’re basically just waiting for scenes or characters to become active again.

This app is really glitchy at times. Love the monsters and the adaptations of books. But the glitches can be a real pain.

I love this game!!! It’s so cool to build your own town, slowly unlock monsters and books; and then completing the books to get good stuff! I love this! Butttt I really wish that we could put curtain things on the road. Like I would love to put Sader’s Sedan on the road but I can’t🥲

I love this game, graphics are great but opening land is a pain.I do spend real money on this game and trying to decorate is tuff because it cost a lot to open land, not to mention stones, maps, compasses etc to open.It does get really aggravating.Other than that it’s pretty easy. The quests are a breeze, they give you more than enough time to collect everything.Just wish it was easier to open land because my town is a mess.

Any idea when the quest will appear? It’s been three days since the update.

When I was playing I saved up about 100 Monster Dollars and when I was crafting I accidentally pressed the speed up button and used most of my Monster dollars to speed up crafting. They refuse to give my money back. I will not play again until they give me a refund and they make a confirmation button when you use your in game money.

It’s a really cool game and a play it everyday! But I think you guys should reduce the time on construction it’s kinda ridiculous you gotta wait 7 hours or 11 hours.
  • Player Beware! Read the Reviews Before Playing

It’s a shame because this game is a great concept and I was having a lot of fun playing it.….until I started noticing my items were disappearing. Keep tabs on your items, especially the ones that take hours to get! They disappear sometimes! This app has a history of problems with disappearing items and the developer just says “we’re sorry….” and does nothing about it. Seriously read the other comments! Also the boxes are SO small they require pinpoint precision to press. So if you’re off by a pixel or two, you will buy something instead of exiting out of a screen. There’s no scroll bar so you have to be careful where you press to scroll up and down, otherwise… you guessed it… it makes you buy something! You see the exact same player requests for quality of life adjustments in the reviews stretching over the course of five years, and the developer has done nothing about it. Same glitches. Same problems. And they comment on every review so they know what people are asking for. This post will probably have a hilarious comment under it soon that is passive aggressive saying “Player…it’s your fault, not ours”
