The organization features of Cardhop are pretty good though odd thing happen at times. That said, it failed on me this week, requiring a re-download from the appstore per instructions (which meant an OS version not supported in my older machine). Now back to version 1 features when I had to go to an archived version. Most of my contacts seem now to be wiped, including in my Apple contact manager. Seriously? You want $60 each year for this? Everything a subscription service now.
  • Least intuitive and poorly designed

This has to be one of the worst contact app I have used. It is barely usable. Once you enter a new contact it is almost impossible to edit its context as you can't find how to do it. The app makes you work more than what it is needed.
  • Good luck removing Cardhop & Fantastical

While the apps have promise, when your trial or the usefulness of this app ends, good luck removing it! I had the trial for 12 days and tried dragging the app to the trash. Seemed OKat the time. However, afterwards (doing a search), found 181 folders and documents scattered in my startup volume related to the developer or the apps by name. Also one folder in my iCloud. All had to be manually removed. Notified the developer about my lack of satisfaction up front with specific other issues. Unworthy of subscription cost for value, IMO! Don't think its right that a devoper of such a complicated pair of apps doesn't have an uninstaller to tidy up after itself. I was not impressed with other features and/or failures noted during the trial of either app. Not to mention the subscription price, OUCH! Response was informative, would try again if the noted issues were to be resolved.
  • More like a widget

It doesn't really do much except sit in the background so you can lookup contacts a little faster than using the Apple Contacts app. I'd like a feature that allows me to pin a contact on the desktop because if I bring up a contact and then click on anything else, the contact goes away. I usually need it to copy an address or just keep it up so I can reference it for notes.
  • Simple but Powerful!

Cardhop has been the most powerful and stable contacts app I have used! The user interface is simple but powerful in managing and syncing contacts. I use contacts from various sources and Carhop efectively manages relationships of contacts, groups, syncing, etc. Glad I found this app!
  • interesting idea of relationship links

while the inspiration ebhind the app is great, the relationships set up on a iOS device remain and can be pulled up, thbut the one's created on the mac OS, do nto get saved. so everytime i try to create a relationship that will be saved, i have to go to my phone. Also the fact that there is a side pop up window, that does not go away is annoying. So when looking up one contact, one has to use a keybaord shortcut to revert to one of the Groups, then search / scroll again.
  • Almost perfect

Cardhop is a great replacement for the Mac Contacts app. I find it faster and easier to look up and edit contacts using Cardhop than using Contacts (I have ~5,000 contacts, and Contacts chokes on large address books). The abiilty to enter new data in vaguely free-form fashion is both a blessing and a curse. The parser almost always gets things slightly wrong. If they would add a way to specify what information is what, that would bring this to five-star status. (e.g. say FRED SMITH Title: Botlte Washer Company: Frobbozz, Inc. Address-home: 1122 Main Street, Chicago, IL etc.)

Cardhop makes managing contacts a bit simpler. The workflow of finding, updating or creating contact records is far more streamlined that the native Contacts app. The birthday reminders are a nice feature as is the Recents list and the flexible search. I haven't used Smart Lists but suspect this may be valuable for many users. Integration with Fantastical may be the most notable feature. Even though this is transparent, having access to contacts from within Fantastical is very useful. One thing that I would love to see in this kind of product would be a tool to review contacts that haven't been viewed in a long time in order to tag contacts for deletion. There are apps that specifically do this, at least for iOS, but I think the CardHop developers might do a far better job with this.
  • Lots of lags, freezes

Was solid for the first year I had it - big improvement on Apple Contacts. But the last few months very buggy - lags, freezes, and I have to force quite. Freezes temporarily, or for good, maybe 20% of the time when I am trying to enter a new address. I've updated everything and used it on a second computer. Just FYI for developer. I really want to keep liking it!
