Description

GEGO is a worldwide tracker that allows tracking any backpack, luggage, your rental car, or anything you care about. Notes: • GEGO utilizes GSM/GPRS/WiFi Technology to triangulate the location of your luggage and then shows you the image on the Map View in your App. • GEGO also comes with a Bluetooth feature that allows you to have peace of mind while waiting at the luggage carousel, detecting your GEGO when it is in range.

  • App seems like an alpha version

Lots of bugs in the app. After making sure everything worked at home, I took my first trip with tracker in my checked luggage. At my first destination, I couldn’t log in. It didn’t recognize my email and it told me to create a new account. Fixed the next day after several emails to customer support. But if I now log out of the account, the app no longer works (both iphone and ipad). The login button ceases to function. You then have to shut down the app and restart. Seems like these basic functions would be working by version 3.6.7. Please hire some real programmers.

I just utilized my new GEGO on my European trip. It was nothing short of utter disappointment. In addition to it would not identify the location of my luggage , my luggage was actually lost and I had purchased this device for exactly this reason and this trip. Hoping this product experience will improve in the coming weeks. If not then other options exist.
  • This thing only works about 1/2 the time

There seems to be no rhyme or reason why sometimes my phone will communicate with a device and other times my phone tells me that the device is unavailable. Sometimes even when I’m standing right next to it.
  • Poor performance and high cost

This device is used to track elderly person. It is not suitable and it should be promoted as such. The location update is so delayed ( about hour or more) no mention trucking history shows only two points, starting point and probably last updated location in past hour or longer, so finding moving person will not be possible. Also high cost of subscription make send to buy chip smartphone and set location feature from cell service provider.
  • Lost lots of bags before finding GeGo

I spent most of my business life on airplanes around the world. Sometimes my misplaced bags “followed” on other flights days later. Today, the most comforting message on my iPhone is, when still taxiing to the terminal, to receive a message that my bags HAVE arrived with me. I won’t travel anywhere without GeGo.

There used to be a month to month option and now there isn’t! They charge $76 for the whole year or $15 a month with a $35 reactivation fee! That’s $50! And if you cancel, you’ll have to pay $35 fee again if you’d want to use it again! I don’t travel every month! I only need this for 1-2 times a year! This is not okay! Very unhappy.
  • Warning Extra expense!!!!

I purchase your much more expensive product so I could track further distance now come to find out the GPS mode requires a service contract. A monthly fee which you do not mention. Underhanded practice!!!
  • Needs improvement

Generally pretty good, but doesn’t support Dark Mode for iOS13 yet, and that makes it virtually unusable when Dark Mode is turned on. Since it’s dark outside for more than half the day right now, that means it’s unusable for more than half the day as well. Fix that, and we’re in 5-star territory.
  • Best Tracker

I was first introduced to LugLoc through a failed Kickstarter called Trunkster. While they died away, LugLoc never forget their customers. When it was time to upgrade from 2G, their customer service introduced me to GEGO. It was awesome in NYC and Tokyo when attached for my backpack. Wishlist: — Family Account management so we don’t have to share passwords across multiple mobile devices. — A control of notification for both push and sms methods instead of all or nothing. — A mesh communication method to help track on cruise ships and underground subways. — A way to automatically change from battery saving mode to a travel mode when it leaves the safe place and to switch back when it is back in the safe place.

I researched as best I could and settled on this one. I had some technical questions and received personal responses within 2 days, rather than the usual boilerplate. I had a 50+ hour journey through 2 airports in the US, one in Europe, and 2 in Africa. I had it set on “flight mode 2” to save battery. As I changed planes at each airport, it updated me within 30 minutes of landing. On the last plane, a small 18 seater to a tiny African airport, the Bluetooth actually told me when it was loaded onto the airplane, before I shut off the phone. (On the other flights, the large airline apps covered that part) Had figured a 50% chance that something would happen, like no cell in Europe or Africa, or the battery dying before 50 hours , or it not sensing correctly. It was perfect, and the battery was at 78% at the end of the trip.
