Very engrossing. It’s hard to put it down. The only thing I can ding it for,as well as the other rooms, is it is a bit too hard on my tired old eyes. As you can see by the 34,000 ratings shown the vast majority of players rate the game five stars. No bugs, no ads, and no b.s.

  • Every game in this series is incredible and immensely satisfying

The beauty and depth of the graphics, animation and fluid interactivity of this series is more immersive and of a high standard no other escape game I have played has yet matched (the closest was the Shenzhen Zhonglian’s Detective Story). Each game is a sort of very long and complicated Rube Goldberg-like series of smaller clever functions you have to get working so you can reach a final satisfying solution. I would consider most of the challenges in the series to be not so much puzzles in the strictest sense, but more as discovering how objects relate to and work with other objects and the environment. If you’re a logical thinker, like a detective who is good at making keen observations and assembling all of the information to determine where it can and should lead, you’ll love this series. It will challenge your ability to think through problems and lead you to satisfying answers without just handing them to you. As I said in another review, the game respects your intelligence. I have only one minor complaint in this chapter of the Room series, and that is the (sometimes unexpected) bright white flashes of light. Since I often play the game at night in a dark room, those flashes are annoying. But that doesn’t deter me. This particular chapter resolved one thing I found frustrating in previous chapters: The text in hints and journals is now larger and easier to read on a smartphone screen, and hints remain visible longer. If you get stuck on a challenge, the subtle but easy to understand hints provided nudge you in the right direction. Don’t give up! Sometimes it helps to leave the game to clear your head so you return open to new possibilities. Fortunately, most found objects are to be used within the same room, so you don’t have to do too much running around with those, but sometimes you do have to go in and out of different rooms or various areas within a room to use them (the foundry room was the most frustrating to me in this regard). The solutions are often more simple than you assumed, so it’s the journey to those solutions that thrills and satisfies. Savor the journey while it lasts.

Can’t wait for the next. THe room games are ethereal, beautiful graphics, challenging but rarely frustrating with clues that help when needed.

  • Great game, amazing quality, tedious back and forth.

The quality as always is phenomenal! The mechanics have improved with each iteration and the story is expanded beautifully in each game. Rating 4 stars because of how tedious I found the continuous back and forth between rooms with very little to do with each visit to each room. In the previous three there were multiple puzzles and tasks in each room, a person would need to revisit rooms but it was less frequent. Suggestion for future games, add an option to skip the animations. Waiting for each elaborate clockwork mechanism to spin into place repeatedly is irritating.
