Description

Reviving a classic KORG analog synthesizer. The iconic 4VCO synthesizer, reborn on iOS. The Mono/Poly analog synthesizer appeared in 1981 at the same time as the acclaimed Polysix. Not only was it a fat-sounding four-VCO monophonic synthesizer, it featured a revolutionary design that allowed it to also be used as a four-voice polyphonic synthesizer, which helped cement its legendary status. The long-awaited “KORG iMono/Poly” iPad/iPhone app completely reproduces all features of the original Mono/Poly. Four VCOs and a rich array of modulation allow a wide range of detailed sound design. New functionality such as two multi-effects units and eight virtual patches are also provided. In addition, the seamless integration that you expect from KORG’s iOS apps will fit perfectly into your music making process. The Mono/Poly has been reborn for today’s world, bringing you a unique and legendary sound. * Due to differences in CPU speed of iPads / iPhones, iPad 3rd gen/2/iPad mini/iPhone 4s are not supported, only iPad Air/iPhone 5s or later is recommended. [ Features ] • Deep 4VCO sound. A complete reproduction of the classic Mono/Poly The Mono/Poly synthesizer featured four VCOs, a dedicated envelope generator for the VCF, and also sync and cross-modulation, earning it a reputation for its detailed sound-shaping potential and its distinctive character. • Powerful virtual patches, and the latest presets to catch the scene Eight virtual patches provide the ultimate expansion of the Mono/Poly’s distinctive sound-design potential. Two multi-effect units are also provided, allowing you to create complex and broad-ranging sounds with complete freedom. • Quick access to all panels Although iMono/Poly provides a vast number of parameters, it’s designed with a screen structure that provides quick and seamless access to all of them. With a single tap, you can rotate between the main synth & key assign screen and the virtual patch & effect screen. There’s no need to open individual screens for specific functions, or to move back and forth between them. • Produce music in conjunction with KORG Gadget iMono/Poly can be used in conjunction with “KORG Gadget,” the music production DAW app that has won numerous prizes within Japan and around the world. When you install both apps, iMono/Poly appears as the “Montpellier” gadget within KORG Gadget. More info at korg.com

  • Great synth but no AU compatibility.

Why create a great synth app, then handcuff it without the ability to use it in AUM?? Makes absolutely no sense to me.
  • NO AUv3 SUPPORT

Come on Korg this is ridiculous!!!! It’s been how many years now? I deleted Gadget because this. Gadget was born on iOS yet you give the flexibility to desktop only. I never bought the desktop version because of your shady business dealings on iOS. I spent over $200 on your iOS products. To access gadgets on desktop, to put in your personal daw, is $200. Over it.

Korg’s iMono/Poly is the virtual synth I’m enjoying the most at the moment, but the lack of AUv3 support keeps me from using it. With Moog’s Model D app, I can have three tracks in my DAW each with its own Model D instance and each Model D instance using a different patch. But with iMono/Poly, I can only have one instance of it. So, for composition, I have to use Model D instead and forego the features of iMono/Poly. Not to mention that not all DAWs work with IAA, and the ones that do still work better with AUv3. I’d even be happy to pay again for a separate AUv3 version of iMono/Poly.

This app has great sounds and functionality with my wind synth but cannot work in AUM because this Korg app is not AU3. Please update this app to fix this shortcoming. It CAN be BOTH standalone and AU.
  • It would be five stars if it was also AUV3 .

It’s my favorite synth on iOS, but I can’t give it more than 2 stars for lack of AUV3. Seriously what a major failure! Who’s idea is it to keep it from running in AUV3? Seriously??? It’s literally the stupidest decision ever.
  • it’s not there yet

I find the midi unstable hooked it up to my novation keyboard and it holds the first note I play, the app seems very unstable, sounds great as a stand alone, sounds worse through KORG gadget, how do I sync this up with other virtual instruments🤷‍♂️, where’s a sequencer, I say it’s unstable because when the patch gets chaotic sounding audio pops begin to happen, it’s like this type of synthesizer is only meant to be analog
  • Sounds good but scale selection is broken

Can’t go back to a standard keyboard after using a scale. User scale does nothing. Manual says nothing. Why would you not have an option to go back to having all of the keys?
  • Needs to be AUv3!

Sorry but I don’t use Gadget and never will. It just doesn’t work for me. But your stand-alone synths are awesome and need to be AUv3! Needs to be AUv3!

This is my favorite iOS synth. As close to a real MonoPoly as I’ll ever get. I only wish the output wasn’t so low. It’s significantly quieter than all of my other synth/production apps even when cranked up to max volume.
