There is no ability to force adjustments on reps/weight on certain exercises . For example lunge to step up wants 10-15 per side after an exercise that burns out the legs and the user can’t get to 10. There is no rating screen for 1-10 after you fail and it does not adjust to your ability.
  • Overview/preview

I love this app. Been using it for a year now and I feel great. An update a few months ago changed the overview/preview of what my workout will be from day-to-day. In the past it would show the overview of every exercise for the day. Now it only shows the first two exercises. It order to see everything for that day I now have to select workout preview and scroll through the whole workout. Of course that is not hard to do, just annoying.
  • Best tailored workout app by far

I have been using for a couple years after trying many others and this is the best workout app I’ve used. The way it adjusts to your training progress and has options for replacement lifts if your equipment changes is elite. I generally lift at home but when I have to use a public gym it makes it easy to adjust the workout accordingly. The progressions of workouts also has helped me make great gains and your dad has noticed. Only downside at all, and it’s not really bad because you can work around it, is some of the supersets are tough in a busy gym. Great app and worth every penny

I’ve been using this app for probably 2-3 years at this point and has made some awesome progress. However after the recent large update I think the tracking has been messed up. Some of my exercises don’t register previous exercise data. For example last week I did incline bench for 10 reps at X weight. But this week it’s saying I haven’t done the movement yet so try my best so cortex can calculate. But if you look in the history my previous info is there.
  • Gets you in shape … but then again

I have used volt for upwards of a year and have noticed changes in my physique. In that regard, as a fitness app, it accomplishes its goal. However, there are many caveats before I would ever recommend the app: - Almost all work is using freeweights and most machines you have to really scroll to find and sub in. - THE APP DOESNT PUSH TO FAILURE. Which is very frustrating because often times thr perscribed exercises are not quite challenging enough to max out gains. - Progress is not kept track of. The app is simple but in some ways it is too simple that it does not track progress visually from week to week for exercises. Sometimes this makes it hard for me to believe in the progress Im making. I value the app for the physique its given me however I am not convinced of the app’s efficacy in this. It gets you in shape but then again so does doing any exercise over a period of time at the gym. Overall, Ive had friends gain my progress through volt over a year in four months on their own regimen.
  • Great Platform, buggy version

Overall, this has been my favorite workout platform for the long haul and some of the changes in the latest version are really good. However, this version is buggy for sure. It keeps not downloading information for specific exercises and won’t do so unless I actually uninstall the app and reinstall. Nothing else seems to fix it, like there’s a cache or refresh issue that won’t allow new data. Didn’t happen til this version with a new iPhone 14.

Keeps me on track, helps me monitor growth and helps to hold myself accountable. Has helped me to not lose weight but to strengthen and get more fit. Seriously - I’m 54 and in the best overall shape I’ve ever been in. Not some muscle / meat-head but overall strength and wellness.
