Description

Click on "Developer Website" or "William Lewis Website" below to see VeinSeek Pro in action! VeinSeek Pro is an augmented reality 'vein finder' application for your smartphone. ---------------------------------------- Instructions for first-time use: 1) Hold your iPhone at least 10 cm (4-5 inches) away from the skin. 2) Turn the flashlight on by pressing the flashlight icon at the bottom left of the screen. 3) Adjust the contrast with slider to the *lowest* setting that allows you to see veins well. 4) If you still can't see veins, try a physical maneuver; lower an arm vein below the level of the heart, or use a tourniquet, for example. 5) If all of the above fail, try looking at a different site. VeinSeek will not perform as well as ultrasound for deep veins. ---- Follow us on twitter: @VeinSeek ---- Read reviews on our website: www.veinseek.com Please leave us a review on the App Store! When I purchased this app, I thought it could be some garbage app, but I was wrong. As soon as I downloaded the app, I tested the app on my family. It really revealed all the blood vessels in our arms, legs, etc. it even showed where my wife blown out blood vessel the nurse screwed up on when she drew blood from my wife. I plan to let my wife use my phone with this app when she gets her blood drawn. So I’ll be updating this as this app gets used (tested). I have it 4 stars because it was a tiny difficult to use. You really need to play with it you really get the right scan you need.

I am a med surg nurse and saw this app on an icu nurse’s phone during a pull. Since then I got the app and have gotten a total of 10 IVs in about a months time on people who were a “hard stick”. This app does work well in most situations and helps you find and visualize veins for IVs to prevent over-sticking patients. It’s also helpful to use it with a friend to both look and find the veins and to palpate them. I recommend this app to any healthcare workers who do venipuncture from time to time.

It does a pretty good job in seeing the veins. I find it is still hard to see the veins that are deep that aren’t readily visible to the naked eye. But helps to see how straight the veins are on the forearms.

I had such hope for this app over a traditional vein finder. It does not adequately illuminate veins on a difficult to stick subject. It does show superficial veins in areas virtually void of subcutaneous tissue. For accessing those veins, I can palpate and visualize without the app.

This application was extraordinary and very useful until the moment they updated to the new version, at the moment it is completely useless, I hope that they correct these flaws and while they return to the previous version since it cannot be used as a working tool in the current form
  • December 2022 Update

Had no problem using the app before the update. Now I can hardly discern the patients gown from their arm. Please revisit capabilities of camera. The only other thing I can think of is it might be better with the room lights off but that’s not feasible when toggling from IV to camera. This isn’t the first time I had wished for a third arm. Hope this helps
