Description

TrackMyGolf delivers a golf swing analyzer right on your wrist. Watch your golf swing at up to 100 samples per second, as captured by the built-in motion sensors of your Apple Watch. There’s no extra hardware to buy (similar products sell for up to $150). An Apple Watch is required in order to capture your golf swing analysis. TrackMyGolf Golf Swing Analyzer Features: - Find out your golf swing power and speed measured in MPH (speed measured is hand swing speed, not club head speed) - Visualize your golf swing form in 3D - Rotate view in any direction to look at your golf swing from any angle - Up to 100 samples/second so that you can see details no human eye can capture - A number of data reported including hand swing speed, tempo, swing plane, impact angle, swing path, grip angle, and golf swing power. - Swing data stored in the cloud so that you can revisit at any time - No Internet connection required during swing. Your golf swing analysis saved to cloud when the phone is connected to the Internet later. - Support both left-handed & right-handed golfer This golf swing trainer tool is extremely helpful in visualizing your arm movement through the swing. For example, you can visualize how your arm cross over through the impact zone. Another use of the Apple Watch golf swing reader, if you tend to cast early, you can visualize your arm pushing out and swinging outside in to compensate. Advantages compared to other golf swing analyzers on the market: - No hardware to buy, just use your Apple Watch. Other analyzers cost $150+ - No calibration, no set up. Start the golf swing trainer app and play. - No switching. No need to switch the sensor when you switch the golf club. - No extra weight. Nothing is attached to the shaft, so your golf swing power and form are never affected. You can even use it on the golf course to capture your game swings. Please make sure you sign in to iCloud on your phone. This app stores your swing in iCloud so that you can visualize it on phone and review later. Limitations: Because the sensor location is on your wrist, you will not see problems associated with your hand. For example, if you flip your hand or un-hinge too early, you will not be able to visualize the problem. However, a hand flip is usually a result of compensating for an early arm casting, so you can get a hint from your arm trajectory. We appreciate your feedbacks. If you see a problem or have a suggestion, please do not just leave a negative rating (yes 4* is a bad rating, we have a high standard :-)), because we have no idea why. Tell us the problem so that we can improve the product. Better yet, email us directly at [email protected]. Like other reviews have mentioned, we provide a speedy support, we typically respond within 30 minutes. The watch app will invoke HealthKit API to request starting a golf workout session when you click "start session" on the watch interface. ** Watch OS3 is required for this app. If it is not showing on your watch, go to Apple Watch app on Phone, choose "General->Software Update" and follow instructions. ** ** You need to sign in to iCloud. All swings are stored in your iCloud account. No swing will show if you do not connect an iCloud account ** ** Turn off sensors afterwards to save battery, by Force Touch, then choose "End Session" **

  • Useless!!

App is not accurate with grip- says strong grip when I actually have a relatively weak grip. Also not very accurate with swing path. Shows way inside - like 10° inside of what the trackman will show. I ended up over the top and couldn’t figure out what was going on until I compare the numbers. Hasn’t been updated in years so they’re just keeping it live to collect money but doing nothing to keep it useful or accurate. Wish I hadn’t paid for this!
  • Nifty but not worth the in-app purchase

This is an app that hasn’t been updated or optimized in four years. It is very buggy and buying the full version won’t fix it. Ultimately not worth the purchase but when it works it’s fun. It is not very useful. For days I thought the app was unusable because it would not record or save swings. I figured out yesterday on the range the app requires the jolt of vibration of hitting an actual ball to record a swing. It will not record practice swings or swing trainer aids or soft foam balls. I was able to see an estimated swing path and stats directly on my Watch 9. There was enough change in stats between a shanked shot and a pure shot to be instructional. I had issues setting up the phone to save shots. Maybe if I saved a good shot and bad shot and then compared the stats at home I could get an idea of how they record differently. I don’t think the app is worth your time.
  • Don’t buy premium

Path measurement is off by 20 degrees. Grip measurement is off too. There is no way to calibrate if your grip is different to what it expects.

Paid 10 bucks and there’s no way to start a session.
  • So, I have the data - now what?

Overall the app appears to connect you’re swing data rather well, but none of the help menus or question marks provide any information- just blank screens. Some of the metrics being logged are useless unless there’s some kind of explanation to what they mean, which doesn’t appear to exist in the app today… hopefully they add this info soon!
  • Is it Accurate?

Not sure how accurate this is. I’ve purposely recorded extreme over the top swing outside-inside swings, and obvious inside-outside swings. Regardless, the visual swing-path diagram continues to show an outside inside swing regardless. Makes me wonder if any of the data is accurate.
  • Good idea but no manual.

The data is interesting and you can learn something from heuristics with it. But there isn’t a manual so you have no idea how the various data points are defined. For example grip angle seems to flip between weak and strong and I have no idea why. Where is that value derived from? Throughout the swing or only the start? Typical developer not wanting to write documentation. The UI doesn’t speak for itself as much as you might believe.
  • Great Data Visualization and Metrics - Need Data Sharing

This is a great tool for the price. The 3D swing analytics and mapping are excellent given the information required as input. That is the best feature of this app - with only a single input from the accelerometer in the Apple Watch, the application is able to create a pretty accurate and detailed picture of the swing. I only wish there was a way to share the data gathered from the swings with other players or coaches
  • Great app w bugs

I just bought the premium version and love the insights and the swing detection it has to offer, however I’ve run into a few bugs that Id like the developers to know. Firstly, when you press the question button on a saved swing right next to the button where you can select which clucb you swing with, I’m assuming it was going to explain what individual sections meant, it just goes to a blank page. Secondly, after a swing is detected and its information displayed, you can swing without saving or canceling and the watch does make the sound that it detected a new swing, but it still displays the first swing’s information.
