Professional tour guides share advice on how to prioritize your time at recommended “not to be missed” viewpoints, suggested side-trips and places of interest. Tours work offline, using free GPS signal and location services, so no data roaming, network, or wifi is required while touring. Visit www.gypsyguide.com for route maps, sample audio, tips and advice and what to know before you go. It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: America’s first National Park – Yellowstone, continues to awe visitors with amazing geothermal features; geysers, boiling mud, fumaroles and hot springs are abundant throughout the park, as well as spectacular mountains, lakes, canyons and rivers. It is also home to a diverse range of wildlife including grizzly bears, bison, wolves, elk and pronghorn. Grand Teton National Park serene beauty is a fantastic contrast to the volatility of Yellowstone. With perhaps even better wildlife spotting opportunities and fewer visitors vying for that perfect image. As we drive the Grand Loop Drive, you’ll appreciate the geology 101 recap to better understand the popular geothermal wonders like Old Faithful in the Upper Geyser Basin and Grand Prismatic Spring in the Midway Geyser Basin, while we reveal some lessor visited areas, that are equally stunning. See why it’s considered a megafauna location with the largest concentration of mammals in the lower 48 and uncover the story behind how a tiny Yellowstone bacterium helps solves crimes. And visit the historical remnants of the pioneering settlers on their forge West and the visit the location of one of the most popular images help to promote the Park. Along with many other stories, tips and directions that will help refine and enhance your Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park experience. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Some of the highlights along the route include; • Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin • Grand Prismatic Spring • Mud Volcano and Sulphur Cauldron • The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone • West Thumb • Tower Fall • Mammoth Hot Springs • Fountain Paint Port • Grand Tetons • Jenny Lake • Elk Refuge • Tower Fall • Mammoth Hot Springs • Fountain Paint Port BATTERY USAGE: ++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle. IPADS: ** iPad models must include a GPS chip. Please note that Apple only install these on the iPad Wifi + Cellular models. Wifi only iPad models have limited location service capabilities and are unable to play commentary automatically. DOWNLOADING: The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks. “ like having a tour guide in the back seat” sounds like marketing hype but it perfectly describes this app. We missed hearing from him after leaving Yellowstone! Next road trip we take will include GyPSy Guide if one is available. In fact we may base the decision on where to go on whether GyPSy covers the area.

Wow!!! I almost did not purchase this app, knowing I had done lots of research on Yellowstone and the Tetons. But thankfully I did buy it!! It provides a little history, geology, and just plain fun facts!! The app worked perfectly in our rental car. And the voice on the app!! Couldn’t be better!! Thanks, GyPSy, for making a great trip even better!!!

We used GyPSy for two days out of four in Yellowstone. WOW!!! It’s just like having a tour guide in your car. Wish we had it for the first two days. We learned so much in general but we were also able to make MUCH better decisions about where to stop and explore. It is especially helpful that no cell service is required!!!!

We just came back from 10 days in Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. We used the app in Yellowstone and it was absolutely fantastic! It gave us just enough information to make decisions about where to stop and when. I will absolutely use these guides in the future if they are available when I'm traveling.

Excellent!! Best $10.00 I ever spent!! Trip through Yellowstone & the Tetons, was so much better, than if we had done it ourselves. We loved every bit of the very informative commentary.
  • Would have been lost without it

While visiting Yellowstone we noticed that they are lacking in signs and information pretty much throughout the whole park. This app had been recommended on a blog we had read. We used it through our week long trip and throughout the Tetons. I highly recommend

A friend told us about this app one week before we went to Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Wow! This app is the best! It truly was like having a private tour guide in our backseat. “Chuck” was amazing. He knew exactly where we were and told us about upcoming sites and places of interest. Along the way he gave us very interesting facts on history, flora and fauna, the ecosystem, etc. Every one of “Chuck’s” suggestions were absolutely right on. In fact we were coming up to Great Fountain Geyser, which we would have never known to stop at, and “Chuck” very enthusiastically told us to pull in and that if we were lucky, and the timing was just right, we would get to see this geyser which only goes off once every 12 hours. Well once again “Chuck” was absolutely right and we got to the geyser 10 minutes before it blew. It was very exciting and I’m still impressed that somehow the app knew the timing was just right. I absolutely recommend that you buy this app. It will be the best $10 you ever spent. I don’t think a real human tour guide would have been any better. One tip that the app doesn’t tell you is if your car has CarPlay, you can plug it into the USB port and play it through the speakers. This was a much more enjoyable experience than plugging it into the 12V and listening through the iPhone speaker.

I would like to preface this by saying I never pay for apps-not even $0.99. This app cost $9.99 and is the best 10 bucks I ever spent! Worked perfectly-and there is almost NO cell service in the park(s). I had no technical issues, and they tell you how to reach customer support in case you do. The app works great, you learn things and it’s funny at times. He tells you about little side attractions we would not have otherwise know about. Yes I had the NPS apps but without cell service they don’t do much. Having this guide was like having our own personal tour guide. So glad we had this app to make the most of our trip and help us navigate these parks. Now I want to go where there are GyPsy apps for!!!

We enjoyed the app very much! The commentary was extremely helpful and we loved the history and nature stories he gave throughout the drive. Also a bit of humor added in! We were directed to points of interest that we would not have known about otherwise. Our group commented several times that we were so happy we downloaded this app and didn’t know what we’d do without it! Highly recommended!!

This app really surprised us. The technology was amazing and gave us so much information as we toured Yellowstone and The Grand Tetons. We saw much more and learned so much about the parks by using this app! The commentator was very engaging! Our only recommendation was restarting after each stop was hard. We Would like to see a resume button.
