Description

Save time typing by expanding short abbreviations into long phrases, code snippets, or entire e-mails. QuickKey allows you to insert expanded text into any app with a single keyboard shortcut. Stop typing repetitive or hard to remember text over and over, and make your life easier with QuickKey. QuickKey 2 now supports multiple placeholders—so you can define a block of text with multiple "variables", crafting entire e-mails. Some ways you can use QuickKey: - Quickly send common e-mails. - Set up custom e-mail signatures to insert on demand. - Quickly respond to e-mails with boilerplate replies. - Insert snippets of code you use frequently. QuickKey syncs with iCloud so your shortcuts are available on all your Macs. Plus, a free companion iOS app allows you to view and use your snippets on the go. QuickKey is the first text expansion app built specifically for complete compatibility with the App Store and all Mac security measures. It is fully compatible with macOS High Sierra and sandboxing. It requires no special permissions to work. Text insertion is faster and easier with our free expansion companion app available at http://quickkey-app.com/extension/ but it is not required. If you have questions or problems, don't hesitate to contact [email protected].

this app is a great idea. but unfortunately, i found it buggy, and difficult to make work. setup was pretty easy, but after not using it for a couple of days, i forgot much of how it worked and there is very little documentation to help jog my memory. plus, i could never get the placeholders to work properly.

------UPDATE------ Just to put things into perspective, the developers behind this software can't even put a working contact form on their website. Do not throw your money in the garbage by buying this software --------------------- App is awesome when it works, unfortunately seems relatively riddled with bugs. With no rhyme or reason the app just acts like certain shortcuts exist. Or as another user review put it "I can no longer access any shortcut starting with D". Also, there should be an option to disable placeholders or at least change their syntax. I have legitimate snippets that contain the syntax for placeholders, but that is because I'm working with code, not because I wanted to use a place holder. Hoping the dev will come back and at least address the random inability to access certain shortcuts. It seems like the bug is related to the autofil feature, if I disable it, it stops happening. Unfortunately the app is a lot harder to use without autofill enabled. I was going to contact the developer but their contact form is dead. If they come back and fix up this app I'd recommend it, but in its current state it is more of a headache than a help.
  • No way to reach support

The support page is down showing a Wufuu form broken link. Also for the life of me I can't figure out how to get it to work. Maybe they can create one video to teach us. Please help us and ill re-review.

Got this app to get a text expansion. the app is buggy as hell - from the shortcut manager not being accurate in what's showing and showign the wrong contents to the app automatically inserting snippets when i only type one character of my shortcut (there are 20 shortcuts starting with this character). Not to mention that there's no autosuggestion beyond one suggestion, so you have to force yourself to remember whatever syntax you use for your shortcuts.

  • Help please

Ok, so I got this app because I thought it would help me be more productive. Nope! The instructions didn’t help, and even when I did manage to get the app running, the shortcuts did nothing. I tried everything from my address to just the word TEST, and it never worked. A little help, please? Sorry for the harsh review, I just was frustrated with the fact that I could never get it to work. I see a lot of potential in this and hope that it improves with time!

I love this app, I use it all the time, but now any of my shortcuts starting with d don’t work because it alwaus inserts the date. Not sure what happened, but now I have to find a replacement for this.

This is a fantastic little app. There are so many uses for this app that you simply have to grab it.

I used to use a different text expander program on Windows but couldn’t find anything for Mac PCs. I found this few minutes ago and got so happy I immediately bought it and recommended this to my co-workers. It’s simple and straightforward. Thank you for making this awesome app. Been waiting for this. :)
  • Great app, but...

I agree with the theme of quite a few reviews: "how to” instructions are a bit lean. I did eventually get it running as advertised, but would add that the information on the App Store needs to be more up front about this app being designed specifically for boiler plate mailings, or daily status updates, etc. And it does that very well. I’ll be uninstalling this app because the text shortcut capability available in both IOS and OSX via the Keyboard system settings meets my needs and works as I type. I will say, if you are in a customer support / response type job, you should check this app out.
