  • COULD be great...

    By ChefJoseph
This is the ONLY app that has issues with my Apple TV. I am constantly getting a “playback error” and the only way to fix it is to restart the device. I have complained so many times that “customer service” no longer responds. I have tried everything and nothing works. I have a friend who has a similar issue with this app. Also, some of the transfers are unwatchable. Great idea, poorly implemented. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired.
  • Good films, feeble app

    By nicmart
It casts to Google, not Apple TV. It doesn’t offer the ability to easily locate and resume playing a film you interrupted. It’s a very limited app.
  • Disappointed

    By VirginioM
The selection is much smaller than advertised. There’s only a handful of movies to choose from, and they change without warning so if you put something in your watchlist it becomes unavailable by the time you try to watch it. The app doesn’t work well: streaming is constantly interrupted and the position is lost so I have to scroll to find my where I was. I have been trying to use the app with my phone (sending to an apple TV) but the streaming is interrupted when the phone auto-locks (after a 5 minutes). Filmstruck was so promising! It should be so much better on every level...
  • Thank You Criterion Collection and Film Struck

The luxury of access to this extensive library via my phone is just this ,....a luxury. Thank You.
  • Great content, badly designed app

I am on a 2-week trial of FilmStruck but have not yet decided if I will purchase a subscription. I love the catalog, especially the Criterion Collection. However, there are issues with the apps. The Roku app is awful, I can only describe it as primitive and this evening the movies would not load and I kept getting error messages. I switched to my Amazon Fire box and that works but the rewind and fast forward are sluggish and behind the times compared to other services, it seems kind of thrown together, especially the menu and search feature, it is difficult to navigate. You definitely need to add some color or contrast to the home screen, the light gray is very difficult to see. I give the movies 5 stars although some of them are also on Netflix and Amazon. It’s too bad the app is a mess because otherwise this would be a first rate service, but with the technical issues it is not worth $11 a month. Edited May 23: I decided to give this another try and I’m glad I did, it’s the only place to go for watchable, commercial-free films without cable or a full-fledged expensive live TV streaming subscription. I had been using Warner Archive off and on and I’m glad the two services were combined. I only subscribed to FilmStruck but the selection is great. I’m re-visiting a lot of favorites and have made some new discoveries too. The search feature is good, I like being able to search by director. I’m still not thrilled with the rewind/fast forward functionality on Roku and the home screen still needs some contrast or color. I’m tired of the junk on Netflix and Hulu and not finding anything I want to watch, so I guess those are minor issues. As long as titles are rotated in and out regularly and the content stays fresh, this will be my go-to movie channel.
  • So many things wrong

    By Jed Fish Gould
This company does not know the first thing about streaming. Try connecting it to a new TV.
  • Love the films not the app

    By mariarein
I love TCM and was very excited when I saw this app. Unfortunate, it’s not very user friendly.
  • Very deep selection of films

I love the wonderful collection of foreign, silent, and classic movies. This is, by far, my favorite movie service.
  • Best Film App, Hands Down....

    By Michael P 44
I just discovered this app from a Facebook advertisement with a month long trial period....I dove right in and discovered a few old films that I never saw and a few that I hadn’t seen in a long time....What a great surprise, FilmStruck is a hidden gem of the movie streaming apps....I plan to purchase the annual subscription and will never turn back....enormous selection of films, exhaustive really....Hollywood classics from TCM that I adore and many films that I have never seen, but plan to watch soon....I read a bunch of reviews and feel I need to put in my two cents....many complaints about streaming problems, but I have not had any....I purchased Fire TV from Amazon and it works perfectly with this app....I can resume movies, rewind and FF without any problems....the picture quality is perfect....and I plan on many years of enjoyment with FilmStruck....keep the classics coming....especially Film Noir, Westerns, Mystery, Suspense and Crime Drama....
  • Great selection of movies, app needs work

    By b4icu
The selection of movies available on FilmStruck is stunning. This is the greatest steaming service I’ve ever used for that reason. However, the app needs work. The video quality barely looks 720p. These old films would soar on screen if they were streamed at 1080p. Also, there needs to be a better reverse/fast-forward option: thirty seconds is too far to skip ahead or behind. A 15 second option would be better.
