Description

A STEP BY STEP FORMULA FOR HACKING BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU In BJJ Core Concepts you’ll learn how to hack Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and become an effective grappler much faster. The ‘hacks’ you’ll be getting are actually the underlying concepts and principles of jiu-jitsu, the keys to the BJJ kingdom. You'll start learning BJJ faster, retaining techniques better, moving more efficiently, and start beating bigger and more experienced people. Jiu-jitsu isn’t some sort of magic and doesn’t require extreme strength, speed, or athleticism. Instead it’s a struggle between two people using positioning, leverage and momentum. The person who uses them best has a HUGE edge over his opponent. No matter what position or situation you’re in on the ground, all techniques rely on concepts like base, posture, structure, leverage, framing, and control of momentum. In BJJ Core Concepts you’ll learn how to apply these concepts directly to your grappling, with many concrete examples to shortcut your way to the top. 1 CONCEPT IS WORTH 1000 TECHNIQUES Jiu-jitsu can be complicated at first because there are thousands of different techniques including armlocks, chokes, sweeps, escapes, guard retention movements, guard passes, etc. It’s certainly possible to learn BJJ by memorising more and more techniques - many people have done exactly that - but it’s a slow and inefficient process that takes years. You’ll get better much faster if you start with an understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of grappling. Once you know them you’ll start looking at BJJ techniques in a whole new way. No longer will the techniques be a long series of steps you need to memorise; instead they’ll become applications of the same few concepts again and again. Take a look at what high level grapplers are doing: most of what makes them so good is that they make minute adjustments to their body positioning on the fly, often without conscious thought. Usually these grapplers have achieved this understanding through years of training and competing with the elite of the sport. BJJ Core Concepts gives you the formula for decoding and replicating exactly what’s happening with these elite level grapplers. Once you understand what’s going on in their ’hidden’ jiu-jitsu you’ll automatically start making the same adjustments in your own training. WHAT’S IN THE BJJ CORE CONCEPTS APP? The app contains one hour and 33 minutes of filler-free video-based instruction. 2 BJJ black belts will go through all the most important BJJ concepts with you, breaking things down into bite-sized pieces with full menus to make it easier to learn and retain the material. It’s not some theoretical physics PhD thesis either. You’ll get lots of concrete examples of these principles in action, so you’ll immediately be able to start using this material on the mats. BJJ Core Concepts will help you no matter if you’re training in BJJ, no gi submission grappling, MMA or for self defense purposes. • App doesn’t work

Had to request a refund because the app doesn’t work. After you pass the first terms page none of the videos work. All that you can see when you click on video link is a white screen. I really wanted to check this out, super bummer.

After buying the app, I am unable to view any videos. I will be requesting a refund because I am not getting what I paid for. 2 Stars

I’ve had a similar BJJ experience that Rob refers to as a being a “move chaser” and thinking that the way to win revolves around a library of moves that “surprise” your opponents. His conceptual approach is so much better than your typical class or app experience.

I always heard coaches tell me to break down my partners and make them screw up and this explains Black belt knowledge to even non white belts.!

I enjoyed the app. The program ran seamlessly. The curriculum definitely gave me a better understanding of the game. Kesting does a great job of raising questions, which brings out the vital details.
  • Fundamentally Helpful

I'm nearing Blue belt. Besides helping me understand some fundamental principles of BJJ, I have gone back to review certain sections and surprise surprise I learned additional/ different points. I saw why some of my frames weren't really frames or why I was getting flattened out and how to avoid it (posts and force vectors). So I think these apps will continue to be valuable even as I progress in rank / skill / experience. Oh, be advised that Rob's humor is not politically correct, but I wasn't really bothered by it. Enjoyed it!

I really enjoy how Rob breaks down BJJ with his core concepts. Learning these fundamental principles instead of just moves or techniques will really help improve your game!! Another great app from Stephan and Grapplearts!!
  • A context for all technique

This app will change how you understand your bjj game and allow you to learn new techniques within an overall context of your game as well as analyze why techniques you already "know" are not working. Rather than going back to the "drill it a 1000 more times" drawing board (which simply ingrains the bad habit) you can use the app to find the guide posts you need to improve your technique and integrate it into your game. Well worth your time and money.
  • Transformative way to approach your game

Some people are natural athletes with an innate sense of how to use their body, and then there's the rest of us. This app, while helpful for everyone, is downright essential if you find yourself analyzing every aspect of your drills or struggling with how to react in unfamiliar positions or against new drill partners. Rob's breakdowns are clear, cohesive and comprehensive. You come away ready to implement his tips the same day.

I own a ton of BJJ instructional content, including most of the Grapplearts products. Always well produced, with excellent video, and audio. This material with Professor Biernacki is particularly good. It focuses on concepts, as opposed to giving you another bunch of techniques. As an older, smaller student, I've found it to be very helpful, as well as inspiring.
