Description

Gboard is a new keyboard from Google for your iPhone. It has all the things you would expect from a great keyboard — GIFs, emojis, and Glide Typing — plus Google Search built in. No more app switching; just search and send, right from your keyboard. Search and send anything from Google: • Nearby stores and restaurants • Videos and images • Weather forecasts • News and articles • Sports scores • And anything else you’d search on Google GIFs — Search GIFs for the best reaction Emoji Search — Find the perfect emoji, faster Glide Typing — Type faster by sliding your finger from letter to letter Gboard for iPhone and iPad supports the following languages: • Afrikaans • Arabic • Azerbaijani • Belarusian • Bulgarian • Catalan • Croatian • Czech • Danish • Dutch • English • Estonian • Finnish • French • German • Greek • Hausa • Hebrew • Hindi • Hungarian • Icelandic • Indonesian • Italian • Japanese • Korean • Latvian • Lithuanian • Macedonian • Malay • Maltese • Norwegian • Persian • Polish • Portuguese (Brazil) • Portuguese ( Portugal) • Romanian • Russian • Serbian • Simplified Chinese • Slovak • Slovenian • Spanish • Swahili • Swedish • Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) • Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) • Turkish • Ukrainian • Vietnamese • Welsh • Zulu Privacy We know the things you type on your phone are personal, so we’ve designed Gboard to keep your private information private. What Gboard sends to Google: • Gboard sends your searches to Google’s web servers to give you search results. • Gboard also sends usage statistics to Google to let us know which features are used most often and to help us understand problems if the app crashes. • If you use Gboard’s microphone, voice input will be sent to Google for transcription. What Gboard doesn’t send to Google: • Other than your searches and voice inputs, Gboard doesn't send anything you type to Google, whether it’s a password or chat with a friend. • To help you with spelling and to predict searches you might be interested in, Gboard will store the words you type on your device. This data is not accessible by Google or by any apps, and can be cleared at any time. • If you’ve turned on contacts search in Gboard search settings, this allows Gboard to search the contacts on your device so you can easily share. None of these queries are sent to Google.

I’ve used this for years. However, here lately it's been missing key strokes.. maybe needs an update or iOS?

Great free swipe-to-text app from a company that helps my government spy on me! Hope I don't have any political enemies 👯‍♀️ Just one point on poor functionality - the gif/emoji suggestion blocks the best word suggestion.

This app is great if you want to guide type instead of tap every letter. It works everywhere except on the lock screen when you want to respond to someone via text. Instead of having a normal white background you can change the theme to any of your photos or some beautiful pre-made themes. One thing that I think would be helpful to add is when you are Ting the word chicken let's say and you want to put the chicken emoji next to it, you cannot. Gboard: chicken Normal keyboard: chicken 🍗 Another thing that I think would be helpful to add is when you 3d touch the keyboard on a normal keyboard you can move where you are going freely around the text. On Gboard it is just forwards or backwards. While yes both of these are minor issues, I think it works make the app a lot better.
  • Voiceover does not announce state of toggle switches, checkboxes, and other elements in settings

I would love to use this keyboard, but Voiceover users are immediately met with problems. What is glowing that we're supposed to double tap and hold on. More problematic is Voiceover's performance in the settings section. On the toggle switches, the state is not announced, so it is not known whether the state is on or off. Without being able to hear whether a selection is on or off, I cannot use this keyboard with any kind of confidence. Please fix. Thank you.

thanks to the Gboard team for adding support for Bengali language. word predictions and input method is still buggy. hopefully the team will come up with much more stable support. it then 4 stars from me.

Google STILL hasn't bothered to fix spell check on their keyboard app. It's still just as inconsistent and unreliable as it was years ago. With their compete revamp of GBoard we now have yet another means to inject in-line animated GIFs into text messages and can even have our texts converted into Morse code! That's because after collecting petabytes of data about their users' every move, machine learning algoriths have determined thst these are the features that their users have been clamoring for, not a way to make sure the text that they tap out on tiny screens is actually comprehensible. In other words, we're doomed.
